There was an individual I paid to do a promotional skit for one of my songs and have it up by a specific date. I paid him in advance, as agreed upon. When the scheduled day arrived, nothing happened. I messaged him a few times in an attempt to see what was going on. No response. Right when I was beginning to think I was duped, he responds saying that he was "handling some personal shit" and that he would post the video as soon as possible. Few more days pass and I see or hear nothing back from the guy. I asked for my money back and got it. Don't promise a PAYING CUSTOMER something you can't fulfill. Even if something comes up, just COMMUNICATE and don't leave anyone in the dark. I would have given bruh benefit of the doubt if he had just kept me informed. I was only expecting a certain level of service because I paid for it.

I feel you. I experienced something like this before. people just "seen" the message but didn't reply. I saw this as a "rude person' signal judging that if I receive a message from someone and I can help the person I always reply.even if I can't help. I think it depends on the person. I used to take this very personally but after some time ,I realized these persons are not "my kind of persons''. I kept socializing with people and those who wants to help you,will help you .If someone is not replying just get over it..yeah it might be harsh in the beginning when you are really excited and wait for a response and get nothing but you get use to it and won't take it to the heart anymore

As much as I listen to and agree with pretty much the lot of things you say, Brandman, I also feel #2 is a bit tricky b/c it's my impression that people see and hear exactly what they want to see and hear. For instance, if they see a DM from a major artist or brand which they want to connect with (OVO, GOOD Music, TDE, QC), I'm wholeheartedly convinced that regardless of how many real life issues are taking place with them, these organizations would receive a response immediately and wouldn't be ignored in any way, shape, form, or fashion. They'd connect immediately if a DM or email from Drake landed in their inbox. So more often than not, if they ignore you for an extended period of time, they simply don't feel the risk is worth the reward and this is why interest is lacked. So I don't want anyone here to become confused between the two. You certainly don't have to take it personally, but possibly you don't have to take it so generally as well b/c how would anyone feel walking down the street attempting to speak to someone, they make eye contact, you know they heard you, they obviously see you, and then they simply keep walking as if you don't exist? Wouldn't take that well at all b/c ignoring people in reality simply doesn't exist. So it's difficult to cope with through electronic reality. Simply address the fact you aren't interested in connecting and keep it moving, especially if you read it and have the time to do so. That's my two cents. P.S. Thanks for all that you do for us on here to help us continue to learn and build ourselves as efficiently as possible. & my condolences out to you and your family for your family's and friends transitions even if it was some time ago. Bless up and thanks much.

1) I think you'd be surprised who people have and have not immediately responded to. (Even me). I think you're thinking from the stand point of people who are in dire need of opportunity. But I know there's some people that don't respond immediately just not to seem thirsty (just like not texting a girl back immediately in high school lol). 2) Also consider even if some DOES apply to a "big name" faster that means there's like personal value for them in it...which is why the point still stands. "Who are you to to have an expectation of me to respond...again...I don't even know you!!"...while if Drake's hits you up, you may either see value in it or just be curious. So that leads to "you need to get your value up"..... I truly believe thinking "if I were ___ you would've responded faster" is a way a thinking with a slippery slope that can easily become toxic. I personally try to avoid comparison culture as much as possible. Leads to a lot of insecurity, envy and poor judgement.

Also take note that IN the video (about #2) I said there were people that were FAR MORE IMPORTANT that didn't get a response.

Do you think someone from europe can become big in the US? (starting from scratch)
@satine23423 жыл бұрын
This is coming from an American. Honestly, get big in Europe first. Because America is very over-saturated. Meaning, there’s a lot of competition. But if you got big in Europe (let’s say the UK), you automatically have an advantage because there isn’t a lot of competition.
