One side of our living room had a nice comfy chair, but it was missing a footrest/footstool, so since I had some high density foam laying around from a previous project and some walnut boards, I decided to go out and buy some nice fabric and build a resting place for our feet while we are chilling.
Tools & Products Used (affiliate links):

Great video. Is it possible to order from you? I am looking for a foot stool for my music room. I haven't found what I am looking for nor have the means to do build it myself.

Hey Workshop Republic, just saw your video on the footstool, great video an interesting design for the legs but I note your modified mitres didn't have any reinforcement I would suggest 1/2 lap joints strength and for the aesthetic of the design/piece, just some food for thought

Hey Chris, I was gonna come back and reinforce the foot miters and even the body miters, but honestly, they are still strong to date, even with my son jumping on them a couple times, and since this is just a foot rest, which doesn't take much weight, I never got around to it, but I agree with you, if anyone is building this, I would suggest some sort of reinforcement, either some lap joints, splines or even screws from the inside out.

Hey amazing video. Can you please provide dimensions for this stool as well as the legs? Also, what type of screws did you use? Thanks

Hi Mark, sorry, I completely missed your comment. The stool is 21 by 15 and has a height of 7in from the floor (keep in mind 7in is the height from the floor to the top of the wood frame), the foam varies depending on what you choose, mine was pretty thick and adds an extra 5 to 6 in to the height, totaling around 13in height total. The legs are 7in tall and at the top they are 11in in width and at the bottom 13in since it's angled. For the screws there were a few different ones for every occasion, the ones holding the legs(the nicer ones) are just some fancy screws you can find at home depot at those drawers in the screws and nails aisle. I don't remember exactly the type/name/etc... but if you go there, spend some time opening those drawers and you will find a ton of different colors and styles. For the internal holdings, it was just regular wood screw. I hope you build it and let me know how it went

What is going on at 7:45? What is cut you're making for, and what tool are you using to do it? Never seen that before. Thanks for the video!

Hey, That's a Biscuit Joiner. It cuts a rebate into the wood, and you put a biscuit in. It assists in the joining of woods. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqHHq3Z8dpeSf8U

How to build a footstool . Before you start make sure you have a spacious workshop and enough cash to buy a panel saw and various other tools used in this vid.

Are you serious? various tools? I literally used an old black and decker drill I bought new over 7 years for 20 bucks, clamps, glue and screws.... You can cut the wood in whatever you have, table saw, miter saw, hand saw.... but I'm guessing you are just a troll
