This is the perfect stool to sit on while taking off your boots and then storing the boots underneath. So many other stools have bottom rails that would be in the way. I love this. Clean lines. Gorgeous.

Very nice finished product, I am a bit heavier than you, I might add large dowels from the top as a decorative approach, but it's so clean looking as it is not sure. Thank you for sharing

Thanks, Big Dowels thru the Top sounds good. Tough Choice 😊

Really neat build! Its got me brainstorming for my own bathstool project. I'm wondering if I could get away without using any glue - assuming glue is not good for wet areas. Maybe a similar but different joining technique!

Thanks, you could use waterproof glue. I originally thought a big sliding dovetail would be interesting, but seemed a little much for my skills, and risky, since I had very little extra wood. Thanks for Watching! 😊

At 4:33, you should make those cuts with a crosscut sled or a miter gauge. Can you use 2 push blocks to push a wide board through a table saw? Yes. Is it safe and sensible to do it that way? No! If you twist the board a tiny bit as you push it through with 2 push blocks, it can twist and kick back very quickly. You can easily get hurt from the kickback (more likely) or lose your concentration and end up pushing one hand into the blade (less likely but possible). Even if you don't get hurt from the kickback, it's easy to accidentally ruin your dados if you twist the work even a little bit as you push it through. I love the simple design of this project, but you should never make cross cuts on a table saw without a miter gauge or a crosscut sled.

Yes, a very good tip, tablesaw safety should never be ignored

Very good! I like this shape, not a block I mean. How you decide the height of stool? in relation to its width and height of you, for example.
@DIYFotoWorks Жыл бұрын
Thanks, the size was just arbitrary. The stool really only holds a towel or bath robe while we shower. But you can easily stand on it but it’s a little on the short side for sitting on. Thanks for watching!

Nice Stool. which table saw do you use?

Thanks, I use the Dewalt DWE7491 job site saw. Very happy with it, for a jobsite saw it is a good performer.

Testing means either sitting on it or stepping onto it. Didn’t see any real weight on it to see if that method works.

Testing implies testing for your specific requirements, those are mine, thanks for the comment. By the way it’s very strong.

its not a simple stool if you need all the power tools

A tablesaw is not all the tools, pretty common in fact, and cutting 2 slots is pretty simple, I even managed doing it, but I do appreciate your input.
@johnhubbard626210 ай бұрын
The table saw is just a time saver, you could easily do this with basic hand tools. @@frankruby8755
