You’re like McGiver . A great TV show. People have called me a McGiver. My father was a carpenter and rebuilt the house we lived in. He needed my help a little too much on the weekends. But then again he did take me golfing once in a while.

I already had the netting this size from a long time ago so that's why I used that size of net. And the total cost of everything except the netting was $200. That's including the black mesh. Most pre-built nets are lame and not the size I wanted so that's why I put this up.

It IS crazy how "jumping" is the first thing to go when you get older. I could dunk a basketball freshman year, when I was about 6'1-6'2. (As long as it was a ball that was easy to palm.) Now, at 44 years old, and SIX-FOUR, even I probably can't even touch the rim anymore.

Your neighborhood is legit so is your set up. Beauty of it is that it leaves room for adjustments and upgrades. If I may offer a idea for the other subscribers I found some used but good condition mats at a local driving range for a fraction of the cost. Every lil bit helps with the expensive nature of the game. Thanks and please keep the vids coming.

Love your channel! Any recommendations on net brands? Seems like there is a ton of garbage on the market and I noticed that you are now using a store bought hitting net in addition to the DIY net now so I was wondering if you had issues with balls going through your homemade net setup?
@leonmarciak88214 жыл бұрын
be careful when pounding the stakes in, might be wise to get underground facilities(water lines, gas lines, electrical ect>) to be located, anything deeper than 6 inches (15cm), you may be liable for damages.

I remember when I could jump......and touch the net, sadly not rim. And I was waiting for a pulled muscle, thanks for not disappointing :-) If you use bamboo poles, thick ones, what would you suggest to put them into the ground? you would want a little give I'm assuming. I guess I could use the metal stake approach, but I need to find some thick bamboo. I'd like a more natural look. Very fun video!

This was fun. My grandfather had a huge tarp set up in his business and would practice, after hours, all winter. Also had a putting lane set up in his man cave. Then stomp his lawyer's butt when the season started. But seriously, for anyone that wants to build a net. Get a pencil and "graph paper" and make a plan on paper first. Find out materials you will need/use (availability, cost, durability, et). Make the adjustments to your plan then build.

I have found 100 foot tape and open field works better

Curious if you have any input. Just bought the 3/4 inch, high impact netting 10x10 off amazon from Just For Nets... familiar? And if so, any issues with ball going through net or net ripping? I saw some reviews that people drove through the net... and I plan on mounting a TV behind the net in the garage.. and hit into the net toward the TV (as I have a simulator - SkyTrak). Just don’t want a ball going through the net into the TV... would love your experience with the net and if you’ve experienced any wear or tear or balls going through it, especially with a driver. Will be swinging about 6-7ft away from the net. Usually drive around 260-280.
