Nice video. I think you covered most of the important points. My wife will definitely go back to the Philippines when I pass away and who knows maybe we will move back there before I die. I would like to set my wife and niece up in a business that could be a legacy kind of thing. If we do build I don’t want a hollow block house. Formed concrete would be my preferred. I’m not that concerned about the costs as you said it is what it is. My focus would be on workmanship. Having talented guys on the job is important. Nice video.

Check out Foreigner Farming in the Philippines, he put on an open nipa roof on his house. Nice view, cooler place to hang out and save on aircon.

wow! thank you so much for all the details, very informative, going to save this for future reference. if possible when you guys get back to the states, maybe a future video on what you would do different if you could do it over again or things what not to do, i.e. paying workers in advance and not coming back to work, etc. thanks Randall and travel safe. Peace!

Thanks my man. Great comment as always. They usually get paid on Wednesday for what they have done so far in the week, then the rest on Saturday. We did that one advance and he didn’t pay it back. I don’t sweat it though. When you are paying between $9-$10 dollars a day for labor I really can’t complain. I like your video ideas.

Hi! which part of Iloilo suburbs is overlooking and has more of a provincial feel to build and retire? Thanks

I’m not familiar with a terrain that overlooks Iloilo City. There are plenty of rural places to buy though.

Did you use any insulation in your house? Did you put any ventilation up high on the ceiling?
@rickmcneil21622 жыл бұрын
Ventilation at the top of the wall by the ceiling?
@ThePhilippinesProject2 жыл бұрын
My ceilings are high enough to vent out any heat. We waterproofed the outside and we just painted three coats of White gloss paint on the sides and back. This helped tremendously. You can touch the walls on the inside and they stay cool during the day.
