Ótimo vídeo! ... 😺😉👍🏻💡✨

@nolan43393 жыл бұрын
Assuming there is access to water/Ice from that cave. No matter how effective those lava tubes are at creating a livable habitat, we can't ideally choose to develop them until we first develop a water and energy source. Hopefully there are some sites with access to both.

4:45 Using boron fibre or some kind of boron-fabric composite can help this, depending on the thickness and layers it could protect from both radiation and micrometeorites. Combining it with hydorgen rich materials (for example water which a habitat needs anyway or methane which can fuel rovers fo example) stored between two layers of inflatable materials can increase radiation shielding and the boron fabric in the inner layer protects from secondary radiation.

People should start with remotely operated vehicles only. First let machines find the right spot and create a base; a mining operation for building material, a mining operation for water and a cavity sealed off and turned into some kind of factory for building material. Next, once there are enough sealed off spaces that can easily be turned into housing quarters for humans and once there is a steady source of water and once there is a steady energy source, people might follow.... the reality will be more complex and way too complicated to imagine for an amateur like me.

I notice many channels also talk a lot about a lunar colony and not just a lunar base. It seems we have most challenges figured out for at least a temporary base or colony. The challenge that I think hasn't been addressed yet is the initial setup for artificial gravity on the moon. It has been talked about for far in the future O'neil Cylinders etc. Could a gigantic Hyperloop be constructed around the perimeter of a large moon crater with habitats instead of travel vehicles navigating the loop and obtaining a gravity effect? You would likely need loops within loops or close and shadowing the main loop to facilitate a travel loop from one part of the main loop location to another, and to allow travelers from outside the loop system to enter the main and secondary loops. A huge Nuclear reactor would be needed to power this system perhaps? I just don't think that changing or modifying human DNA to handle weightlessness is part of any kind of near term plan. Without the artificial gravity, there would likely be limits of duration allowed stay, that visitors to the lunar colony would have to adhere to for health reasons such as 30 days. Yes, I know astronauts have stayed much longer in space, but many of them suffered health problems from those longer durations. We would likely have to negate that type of problem to make a successful colony or base with people staying for months or years at at time.
@robymaru034 жыл бұрын
Currently there's talk that 1/6 gravity might not be as bad as 0 gravity, because unlike 0 gravity, 1/6 gravity still tell your body there's an up and down and there's some kind of resistance for the blood flow to go all the way to your head, and bone and muscle problem will be significantly lower, one thing that might happen, is that people might start "whaling", I'm using this term to describe what happen to mamal when they went back to sea, since water offer less gravity they grew really big, so within a thousand year people born on the moon will be 5 meters tall with low bone density and lower blood pressure, and they will need a special space suit to go back to earth without being kill on the spot, but we talking far out in the future tho, for now people will just be fine living on the moon temporarily, and they will be way better shettered than people on the ISS.

Though s bit whimsical I would love to see a spacebase / science research facility similar to 2001 moon base and/ or a moon base alpha type of facility and Mining Facilities too . As a more efficient form of transportation at the liner surface I would love to see a lot gravity liner vehicle similar to the "Moon bus " concept of 2001 for the transportation of people, cargo and equipment to and from mining facilities space hotels and moon bases or "Moon Ports " on the liner surface for longer distance spots on the moon ( shorter distance travel can be used by Moon buggies and Moon vehicles on the lunar surface) A eagle spacecraft (like space 1999) for moon to earth travel would be a game changer but the tech for that may not be possible or feasible with present technology or ever.

We don't know The composition of the moon is a mystery to us and claims that it's filled with the resource X are just BS in my opinion. Even if it's filled with valuable materials, the energy requirements to send it to Earth may make it worthless. Titan is filled with hydrocarbons, but they are not worth the energy consumption to recover. There's a concept called Energy Return on Investment (EROI) - the Earth can be filled with petroleum chemicals, that require more energy to mine than they produce when recovered. When this is under 1, there's no point in recovering them because it takes more energy to recovery the energy resources than you get out of them once mined. The moon may be filled with valuable element X - but if it costs more to mine the materials there than it costs to recover on Earth, it's not economically feasible. We are certainly at that point currently, and it may be a permanent condition. It may be never worthwhile to mine anything from an asteroid or a planet.
