Thank you for the great video and taking it slow with details. This is very DIY friendly video which was very useful. I am currently building one myself. For anyone who don’t own a table saw, you can also use a basic circular saw with a guide or kregs guides. Thanks to you I also replaced finished nails with finished screws and saved me from buying a finish nailer. Do you also have a video for the faux panels?

Great video. What did you use for the false doors and drawers on the front? Store bought trim? Did you have to add 3/4 inch to the side panels in order for the front to be flush?

I used store bought trim, it’s only about 3/8 thick so I did not recess it because it blends back to the base on both sides

I used 6” pulls on the faux cabinets and 4” on the faux drawer pulls. Then I made the drawers about 12” tall by half the width of the face panel and made sure to leave about an 1/8” cap between each to make it look more real

Just found your video. I’m trying to figure out if it’s cheaper to build a bed or buy one. The price of lumber in California has skyrocketed since COVID. Anyway you could supply the wood list you needed so I could price it out before purchasing the kit? The difference between the two queen sized beds you linked? Heading over to watch install vid now.

Thank you for watching. I used 4 sheets of birch plywood, some poplar 1x2s and 1/4 in birch ply. The other costs were fasteners, paint and the hardware kit. I honestly don’t know if you can do it cheaper now, in my case it was much cheaper much better quality than any others I have found premade. When you are sourcing your plywood, don’t go to a big box store, look around for a good hardwood company and you will find better plywood, usually for less

You don’t need a miter saw if you don’t have one. But you do need a way to cross cut.

If you don’t have a miter saw you can hand cut with any type of cross cutting saw you would like.
