If you live in a hot climate like us (ctr Florida), should we still paint the outside black, or would it get too hot?

Talk about saw safety. Never freehand cut on a table saw. Never have an assistant on the other side of the saw help pull the cut through. You can pull the operator’s hand into the blade. The user should always use a push stick. And keep that Irving knife on the saw to prevent kickbacks.

Not to sound mean, but wouldn’t the wind moving the top house around squish the bats while their inside?

Excellent video showing how to make a rocket box bat house with special emphasis on the pacific northwest. I have to agree with prior poster about how unsafe the table saw cutting was. Please don't use a table saw without a guard on it. Also, never try to free hand a miter cut with a table saw unless you don't like having ten fingers.

Would love to learn simple ideas for providing bat boxes. Keep up the awesome videos and teaching! Learned a lot from this thank you.

LMAO @ the comments. Never in my life read so many armchair Karens crying about "OH, that's unsafe!" and "Don't use a table saw to cut angles!" I have literally cut tens of thousands of 2x4 wooden stakes to points using a table saw. We cut angles on plywood ALL the time. It's a much cleaner/straighter cut than a skill saw. No kickbacks. Still have all my fingers and both eyes. How about you miserable people quit trying to bring everyone else down to your level and post some positive stuff to a young person, smiling the whole video, giving everyone an idea of how to get bats to live around their homes. Maybe you know-it-all doom-and-glooms should stick with watching OSHA videos. As for the OP... Great video and thanks for the great ideas! You rock, no matter what the haters say! Way to have the courage to post a video, unlike the haters here. These people go around to everyone's videos trying to find something to gripe about, thinking their comment makes them relevant. If you people are so much better, go make your own videos. Oh, that's right. These same people would pick yours apart as well and you don't have the courage to subject yourselves to the negativity! Hahahhahahah!

I live in Arizona, our temps. easily go over 100+, would i still paint it black?
@vireogilvus2 жыл бұрын
Personally, I wouldn't. In the Sierra Nevada, I just leave the wood raw and let it weather. I'm sure you could probably do the same in AZ, but you'll want to consider sun exposure carefully, in terms of placement.

Got to be the one of the most dangerous things I've seen done with a table saw cutting angles free hand is a good why to end up with a injury that could end with a trip to the hospital

@@4pharaoh thank you for your smart and calm minded response. To many idiots like ruby let emotions over ride common sense. Just because it may sound " rude " it's true. A table saw is NOT beginner tool and if used incorrectly you could seriously injure yourself.

Please have someone who knows teach you about how to use a table saw safely. You don't want to be known as "lefty," or "3 finger Alyssa." GO COUGS!

An amazing example how not to use power tools. The irony is the call for using PPE which in total was one pair of goggles and ignoring any other safety PPE. The cramped working quarters, loose, restrictive, and bulky clothing. Tablesaw free-handing cuts, moving the material with your hands in the path of the blade, possibly pulling the wood through. Putting your hands/fingers in the direct area and path where you're using the power nailer. Operating the reciprocating saw or any power tools in the direction of your or anyone else's body is a bad idea. Again the lack of area to work and mount your work safely. So much more.

NEVER USE A TABLE SAW THE WAY THESE GIRLS DID THEY COULDVE GOT SERIOUSLY HURT. THUMBS DOWN FOR NOT KNOWING SAFE TOOL HANDLING PROCEDURES.

good video. terrible tool usage. Literally exactly what you shouldn't do with a table saw. Also the dude was using the nail gun with his thumb under the nailer. Very dumb idea.

actually they held their hands and fingers I the shooting line of the nail gun several times and the use of the circular saw was awful.... I've personally seen circular saw grab and run up and our of cuts and down boards before.... right where she had her hands.

Had to down rate this for several reasons. First is what everyone else said about tool use. It’s extremely irresponsible to promote this type of dangerous use of power tools. Second, which is more important, is the lack of information about what color to paint depending on climate. If someone in Arizona paints the bat house black, they will cook the bats. The interior of the bat house should not go above 97° for comfort, and is dangerous over 104°. It’s possible to get remote temperature sensors which can be installed to monitor the temperature. The temp should be tested in different areas of sun exposure before deciding on a permanent location.
