This week I show you how I built a simple rolling utility cart for my workshop. This rolling table is great for things like project assembly, glue up, table saw outfeed, or just providing an extra work surface wherever I need it. It fits snugly under my workbench when not in use, helping to maximize my shop floor space.
This was built entirely out of scraps and leftovers from other projects. Here are the basic materials I used:
Materials needed:
1 sheet of MDF
Several 8 foot 2x4's
4 caster wheels
Screws and nails
Tools required:
Saw
Level
Drill with screw attachment
Hammer or nail gun
Campin' words

I would've cut the legs, but, it worked out fine regardless. Enjoyed the "good, bad and ugly"..

+markforrestsm in hindsight, I should have cut the legs. Oh well, as you say: it’s worked out well. Thanks!

Haha I was like....buuuuut why wouldn't you shave off the legs? So much less work! But I like how you include the mistakes...because I make many when I build 😅

Do you think I should have just shortened the legs rather than cut down the top frame? I thought about both approaches....

It didn't fit because the ground is slanted for runoff. You can see the angle in the video. I'll bet if you'd measured the underneath height on all four sides of your existing bench, you would've caught it. Great video though, I'm going to copy your design!

I believe you are right. The workbench is perfectly level, but the floor does slant just a bit for runoff. The bigger issue was that it was too tall to work as an outfeed for my table saw. In hindsight, it would have been far simpler and safer to just cut the legs a little shorter at the bottom to correct it. Thanks for the comment, and thanks for watching!
