I like that they included the space shuttle possibility in KSP 2. It took some time in KSP 1 to get the orange tank and the big boosters.

It’s a toutorial. Slow it down not trying to pause every second. Also show the dimensions rather than reading them off at light speed. Just a few tips. Especially for new players.

Your center of gravity is likely behind your center of pressure. When taking off, make sure your shuttle engines are tilted outwards to push the back end in while the SRBs are firing. Maintain your launch angle by adjusting the throttle of your shuttle engines. Less throttle will make you rotate backwards, more throttle will make you rotate forwards.

the engine mount only has 1 node for me, its supposed to have 4. one in the center, i only get the one in the center

That flap below the engines was absolutely critical for entry because the nose of the craft had a lot more drag during entry and the nose was getting lifted up due to this.(sorta it's complex hypersonic stuff) The purpose of the flap was to keep that nose down and sorta control and tame that a bit. Interesting poorly remembered history fact!

i put your video on .5 speed and still found you rushed through building it. it was very hard to follow and i ended giving up. a lot of stuff was just quickly put on and had no explanation as to how you were doing it.

Yeah I was also excited because I'm not skilled enough to build these on my own when I found a tutorial and I also gave up due to the rushed feel. Especially when it came to the wing measurements.

impossible to put it into orbit. By the time both boosters are ejected, the shuttle is almost out of control. After 11 attempts, I was only able to take it to 35,000 meters altitude. The other times I had to separate the tank from the shuttle in an emergency to be able to land it. It is beautiful but unusable

I've read the control surfaces were locked on the actual orbiter vehicle on launch... is this feasible in KSP or is it an absolute necessary in KSP to hold course to orbit with wonky stability issues in the game???

Which part did you use for the wing streak? It looks like you chose the MPS-500 "Transition" but when I play with the values it looks nothing like your end product

Mess around a lot with the wing position and add monoprop tanks to the front of the cargo bay. Turn on the indicators for Center of Lift/Pressure and Center of Mass. You want Center of Lift/Pressure just behind the center of mass. Too far back and you'll flip, too close and you'll flip

I made almost an exact copy of this Shuttle with my own modifications but the way you do the color is by messing with the base color opacity. I'd have to check my paint options again but setting the accent color to 0% opacity and then on the base color setting it to like 10% opacity on black works. Might have which is base and accent flipped but you get the idea

There is a difference between making THE space shuttle and making A space shuttle. Matt Lowne and other streamers make space shuttles that function, they are not trying to replicate THE space shuttle.

@@delfinenteddyson9865 Seems the t/w ratio is way off in the OAB also. Shows it as 0.58 but I can take off with it. But I guess thats one of many bugs with early release.
