In my expiriance Metamagic Adept is the best feat for any wizard because it gives you access to a sorcerery pool letting you play around with your spell slots which we can flavor as Alphonse having a philosopher stone

Al is a proficient hand to hand fighter though. I think 2 levels of fighter for unarmed fighting style and action surge.

I would think he could take a 1 level dip into Artificer. Gives you armor proficiency, and access to some spells Wizards don't get.

Ok, I would have actually gone monk/ Druid, reflavor your spells as alchemy, and wild shape being the equivalent of transforming the armor/body and al has some decent hands as he trains with his brother

​@@dndbuilds Well, fun fact, Reborn is a race but it can also be just abilities tagged onto a race, as per the Ancestral Lineage feature, like a Reborn Human or a Reborn Dragonborn. So you technically could have made Al a Reborn Warforged and had it both ways. It's not *entirely* RAW to keep things like the AC boost but I'd argue that's more on the feature nit being clear then it not being allowed

My homebrew rules for the Transmuter: Minor Alchemy: Permanently changes one Material to another of equal value (like 100GP worth of food becomes 100GP worth of Diamond). No infinite Money cheat, but no searching for certain Materials either. Transmuter Stone (6th level): Already very cool, so no changes Master Transmuter (14th level): >Major Transformation: already good >Panacea: Also restores all Limbs of a Creature >Restore Life: already perfect >Restore Youth: reverts Target back to an Age of your choosing, which does extend your life expectancy. You can't revert someone other than you into a Baby though (and unwilling Targets have to make a saving throw against that).

I've been kicking around the idea of playing a warforged mage next, one specializing in time magic. I thought chronomancer was a specific class but I guess it isn't. Loving your use of footage from the original anime! I know Brotherhood kinda overturned it but the original was still good!

Yeah there's a Chronurgy wizard, but that's just a subclass. Definitely a fun one to play around with though

I grieve the highest cost material in 5e is the True Resurrection Material which if my memory serves me is 10000 gold pieces worth of diamonds.

With so many ways to bring somebody back from the dead it seems like such a waste

@@dndbuilds It's actually 25k worth of diamonds and the reason it's so expensive is because it isn't limited by most of the other restrictions that the other spells have. Raise dead and reincarnate only work if the creature has been dead for less than 10 days. True resurrection works within 200 YEARS. Also if there isn't a body anymore (say disintegration) or the creature has been made into an undead, true resurrection still works where the others don't. True resurrection is for when the other raise spells can't get the job done.
