Main takeaways: Life happens for us, not to us; Practice ‘intelligent selfishness’; Practice gratitude; pre-frame, re-frame, de-frame; Matthew Principle; If you get in your head, you’re dead; You’re rewarded in public for what you practice in private; Balance control and being in the moment; Confidence without competence is just delusion; Biography is not destiny; Once you're a fucking achiever, the drive is never gonna leave you. Recognize the patterns and seasons. It's ALL happened before. Fantastic podcast! Thank you Chris and Tony! 🥹

I came from zero. We were dirt poor. I've accomplished a lot since then. Joined the military. People said it was bad idea. That I would not make it. I made. While in , met me wife . Still together. Had a child. Put myself through a technical college. Bought a nice house. Ran many races and won. Got a better job with better pay. Now I got another job. An apprenticeship. Getting paid the most I have ever gotten paid. Yet, after all of that I still I find it very difficult to have confidence in myself and I don't know why. I guess that's why I watch these videos. See if I can figure it out
@dahliajeanweinstein4 күн бұрын
@ Maybe it's not about figuring it out. Maybe it's acknowledging that none of us have it all figured out - including the podcasters we love - but it's a growth and learning opportunity to keep striving to figure it out together. (Sounds like you have a good head start though. Keep going. And thank you for your military service.😊)
@Rufio19754 күн бұрын
@@dahliajeanweinstein Thank you . I know you are probably correct. Most of us don't have it all figured out even though at times, it feels like others have at least more of it figured out than I do. I'm constantly looking for the answers though. I think mainly for me,it's a confidence thing. I just find it confusing that, No matter what I have achieved, I don't have the confidence in myself that other people do. Well thank you for your response. I don't mean to go on like a sad sack. Great episode! Sparked so many ideas in my head tonight! Here are my notes 📝 What fuels you? What is your comfort level in being your real self? (13:51) The hero's journey! Telling your story from experience (16:00) Focus on what's right, instead of what's wrong! "Wherever focus goes, energy flows!" It's about being intelligent! 3 Decisions [That control your life!] - What are you going to focus on? - What does it mean? (Emotion) - What are going to do? 'We don't experience life, we only experience the part of life we focus on?" • How can you be happy if you're always focusing on what's missing? You're mind is a tool you gotta use! If you don't use it, it's gonna use you! Focusing on what's missing causes a series of pain! • What you can control or what you can't control? • Where do you focus more, your past, present or future? Philanthropy is the act of giving time, money, or talent to improve the lives of others. Pre-framing (priming) / De-framing / Re-framing - Giving meaning - Changing meaning - Destroy meaning (frame of reference) [I been priming myself for years now without evening knowing what I was doing it. For example, back in 2023 before battles I would listen to books and write in my notebook what I wanted to experience at these events. Which lead to me having a great experience...] "If you don't have 10 mins for your life, you don't have a life!" Train the emotion of gratitude in life Fear and anger destroys you life Life happens for us, not to us... But it's our job to figure it out! Earn the right to serve people And people have to earn to the right to be served! Not everyone is your customer! (Everyone want understand your approach) We are not here to please everyone! [Create a video on priming yourself for battles] "Get in your head your dead" - Tony Head and Heart must be connected! Your rewarded in public for what you practice in private! Balance of control and being in the moment Going to through hard times then looking back and reflecting on the wisdom you gained from it! "Situation are meant to be but it's up to us to decide how we will use it or be used by it!" - Tony "We are all here for something more than ourselves!" It's all about the people you spend time with! (Certain people can give you the path way of life) The Fourth Turning - The cycles of history Recognizing the patterns What you are experiencing now has happened before! Maybe not the exact way but someone has experienced it in the history of life. 3 Skills: If you can recognize patterns - the fear disappear Use the pattern - Creates Mastery in something Pattern creation - Creates an amazing life What season are you in right now?

I would have never valued that 5 years ago and wouldn’t have believed it. Now I have clients who work out from their home, keep adherence, can record and repeat their workout, and keep up our own personal relationship. You're not listening because you're more comfortable with the story you already tell yourself, despite hating it - the fear of change keeps us stuck in self-defeating patterns. He defined what "extraordinary life" means - life on your own terms. That's all. We need purpose to achieve that, which must have a function of service outside ourselves. There is no option between a life you don't want and life on your terms. We either descend into reinforcement/complacency of the former, or we work towards the latter. Get to work.
