How to build an FPV DRONE 🔥 Start-to-Finish

Some people brought up some concerns about the capacitor placement which made me take a look at it now that I've flown this quad for a bit. It did look like it was going to cause a problem eventually. I decided to remove the tape, shorten the leads, and solder wires onto them. Then I used heat shrink tubing to cover the exposed spots. The cap is in the same place, it is just better protected now. Thanks to those that pointed that out!

The buzzer you got can be turned off by plugging in the battery again and removing it. Just once, as soon as it is removed for the first time plug it back in wait 2 seconds, unplug and you are done :)

This is the reason to buy Vifly buzzers. I bought a couple flight buzzers once because the Vifly buzzers were out of stock and I learned very quickly that all buzzers are not created equally!

I use heat shrink to go over antenna and the antenna mount, to keep antenna from coming out of holder. Great video, enjoying it.

i flipped my stack around put the cap in the front then flipped it around in betaflight by 180 degrees. Works good

Everything seems to be holding tight, first I tried it on the Tanq put out by Rotor Riot, when I learned about the heat shrinking antennas from Shaw in the you tube they put out for step by step build. Now I do it on most all my drones that have 3d printed antenna mount, I am a newbie at FPV, so I have had some pretty hard crashes to test the heat shrink method. Some day I crash so much I question why I am enjoying FPV, but slowly getting better.

It definitely sucks to get to that button but the Vifly is an absolute necessity for me... There is an easier way, just plug the battery right back in until it completes it's series of beeps then you can disconnect again and it's no different then having had pressed the button

I wouldn’t recommend placing the receiver on the fc, and get some smaller zip ties . But otherwise the build is awesome.

I really want to build this drone! Would you be able to share some performance stats? Speed, battery life, max distance? I am new to this hobby and I am not sure what to expect :D

Speed = IDK, but I have no problem keeping up with cars at 50mph. Battery life = 4-9 minutes depending on how hard you push. Distance = 🤷🏼‍♂️. I’ve been miles away. You don’t really want to go too far with these types of drones because you will always run out of battery before you’re able to get back and then you may lose your drone. Honestly for your first drone you just need to build something and learn to fly. I wouldn’t get too caught up in stats.

I had the same issue with missing a stack screw. It was really annoying. Totally held up my build for 2 days until I could get some counter sunk screws. For $100 that's some BS for sure!

Hello, blogger, the receiver and its own wires have been arranged on the FC gyroscope. Will the magnetic field affect the gyroscope after the wire is energized? Many bloggers say isn’t this great?

Hello, please tell me. I want to buy my first quadcopter. And I want a small one (5 inches), but with the ability to mount a GoPro, a long flight range and a flight time of 15-20 minutes (I know that I’m asking for the impossible). Maybe you know some ready-made assemblies. Thank you.

Nothing pre-built will get you those specs. Maybe a Helion, but that’s a 10” drone. I understand wanting a FPV drone that flies 15-20 minutes, but the reality is that is a REALLY long time to be piloting the sticks. It is genuinely exhausting to fly so long, and you will end up with a lot of uninteresting GoPro footage. FPV is one of those hobbies where you don’t know what you don’t know. You WILL eventually lose a drone flying long range - it just happens. Learn to fly first, then get into long range. 🙌🏼

speedybee should be a slight bit cheaper and they're mostly the same

I haven’t used the speedybee so I can’t really comment on it. I think it’s a tiny bit cheaper, but it basically has the same function. SLIGHTLY less amperage. I’ve heard some people have problems with speedy bee boards, but that may have been in the past. I’ve also heard of people having problems with Diatone stuff in the past lol. I’ve been happy with Diatone, so I’ll probably stick with them if I’m using my own money

Nice work! Which battery is your favorite on this and what are flight times like? I have another 5" build and some gnb 1300 6shv and also have some 4s 1500. Been wanting to build another quad in this frame.

I've had flight times approaching eight minutes if I'm just cruising, but 5-6 is probably the average. Lately I've been using RDQ's 6s 1300mah batteries because the price point is so nice. However, I recently got some Tattu R-Line 4s 850mah for a smaller drone and love them. Next time I buy 6s batteries, they will probably be Tattus. GNB is great too, though I haven't tried any HV batteries.

@@DanielJohnFPV nice! Yeah I get 4-5 min of light freestyle with the gnb 1300. Thought of trying some bigger battery's for some mountain cruising. One guy said he uses the gnb 1850 on a nazgul f5d for mountain cruising. Thought that would give a couple extra minutes.

Question for you again. Have you tried using rocksteady on the o3 with this frame? If so does it work well? I have the rotor riot tanq frame and the way the o3camera is mounted there is to much vibrations so the gyro data on the o3 is messed up. Unstabalized its smooth but using rocksteady it doesn’t work. I don’t use a GoPro for now

Great video bud, but completing a circuit with the capacitor leads is a bit bigger of a deal then it sounded in the video, I mean thats direct contact to your lipo's positive and negative, have you seen what happens when you let the leads on a 6s lipo touch each other.....??? Let's just say, there will be smoke.... I am not trying to be a dick or anything, I think this is a great video but heat shrink those capacitor leads individually before you tape them up against the capacitor itself or mounting it anywhere cause you DEFINITELY DONT want to find out what happens ..... Great content bud!!

That's a good idea. It's been through some gnarly crashes so far and has been fine. If I'm hitting anything hard enough to break a standoff and reach the cap, honestly the battery is probably on fire already 😅
