As an owner of an 05 OBXT also, this makes it easier to understand how and where i should run the fuel lines I bought and placement of fuel regulator and flex fuel sensor. I appreciate the details and explanations of everything you did.

Quick question. Those quick disconnects fittings that go to the metal lines from the firewall. What size are they? 5/16 or 3/8. Im doing this on a 2011 wrx and guessing the metal hardlines from outback are the same size.
@SWSpeedCo2 жыл бұрын
They are 5/16, and they are the same size as the wrx

@@SWSpeedCo sweet! I appreciate the help and speedy reply! This video helped me out since i was stuck with a second hand bought flex fuel kit/rail with no lines. The adapter for the fuel pressure sensor didn't fit my car and didn't say what size it was. I can finally finish my fuel system!

This video is incredibly helpful. I'm trying to do the top feed fuel rail conversion on my imported JDM Legacy GT, and had no idea how to do the fuel lines, so finally I have somewhat of an idea. How is your vehicle tuned? what kind of alterations are required to change to top feed rails and bigger injectors? I bought all the stuff without really considering how i'd achieve that lmao.
@SWSpeedCo2 жыл бұрын
My car is tuned on ecuflash open-source tuning, if your just changing injectors and fuel rails all you should have to change is the injector scaling, and latencies which should be provided buy the injector manufacturer
@lukeschmidt28302 жыл бұрын
@@SWSpeedCo Yeah Deatschworks provided all the injector information, although im also doing fuel pump, intake, intercooler, downpipe, exhaust, and probably turbo eventually as well, I may just find a good tuner and leave it up to them to figure out the maps lol.
@SWSpeedCo2 жыл бұрын
Yeah a tuner would definitely be a good idea for all that, just make sure you do open source because cobb is doing wierd things with there software limiting what you can do. Open source is the best option now

oh man!! The diagram on the kitchen island was freaking helpful as ever!!! Thank you so much for this. I just put in my fuel hanger with the dual pumps and the fuel filter from Radium. Question! Can't I just run -8AN line through everything? from fuel tank -> filter -> injectors -> FPR and back? Or is it better to step back to -6AN? I'm thinking as long as I keep ~40 psi on my regulator I should be straight, right?
@SWSpeedCo Жыл бұрын
I'm glad the diagram helped lol! I don't see why you can't run -8 all the way through. Your dual pumps should have no issue flowing that volume. I think if you are aiming for over 600 whp you would probably want -8 anyway

Hello my friend, could you make a video of how to remove the manifold? As I have done part of it and encountered a difficult of the manifold can not be removed because it is blocked by the fuel rail on top of it. Thanks for help!
@SWSpeedCo Жыл бұрын
To remove the manifold you need to remove the fuel rails along with it. You disconnect the rails from the injectors and tgvs which will allow you to remove the manifold and fuel line assembly. Once it is out you can separate the fuel rails in the middle where the soft lines are which will allow you to remove the fuel rails from the manifold. Hope this helps

Question. When you went to top feed fuel conversion kit. Did you have to get the fuel pressure regulator
@SWSpeedCo Жыл бұрын
I did, but if you buy fuel rails from a subaru with top feed injectors you can use the factory fpr that works with those fuel rails you don't have to get an aftermarket fpr. The fpr for top feed cars is mounted on the fuel lines buy the intake manifold vs the side feed cars have the fpr on the lines coming from the firewall

I’m really new to all this but what happens to the Evap port? Does it need to be plugged or can you just leave it open and disconnected?
@SWSpeedCo6 ай бұрын
I left it open and didn't have any issues. The best way would be to put like a breather filter on the end of it. If you plug it up your gas tank will build up pressure and not fill correctly or it may run wierd. Hope that helps

@@SWSpeedCo I followed my old fuel lines and I get it now. I’m going to wrap some pre-filter sheet around the fitting and use a small clamp to secure it just so it’s not fully exposed since I do plan on getting the car really dirty. Great video!

I’m looking to do the conversation on my 02 wrx bugeye , what happens for the standerd fuel filter that the lines go into coming out of the firewall ?
@SWSpeedCo2 жыл бұрын
Do you mean the pulsation dampers? I don't think there are any fuel filters forward of the firewall. The kit replaces everything forward of the fire wall so those will be deleted. Some fuel rails have options to add dampers if that is something you want to do
@mattmaynard83964 ай бұрын
@@SWSpeedCoon some years and makes/models there is definitely a canister fuel filter. My 2002 NA/T setup has a fuel filter right where your hardlines came out of the firewall
