no. Halion Sonic is the free VSTi. You can't edit sounds in it.

why dont they make this editor for free to use for all Cubase users? this way a lot more people will use it... a sort of free Reaktor community. Maybe it will give Cubase some of its popularity back, since it only works with Halion Sonic...

Hello, it is a complete different product, HALion 6 is a sound design, sample editor, and now VST Instrument scripting tool, that can be used on any VST host, creating your own instrument is just one of the functionalities.

I see now its probably not his screen but its Halion. Anway, what an amazing piece of kit Halion is. Really is the samplist/sound designer dream. Very deep though but anyone willing to spend the time and become a Jedi on this thing would be well rewarded in their music/sounds

..how many people can say, i made my own instrument..haha, sure not many....its a nightmare process, for an average user could take many sleepless nights to make a custom instrument and save it....halion 6 is a great sampler amazing sound engine but its very complicated to use...comparing to logic x 10.5 new sampler this is a disaster....i hope steinberg will make a user friendly version of halion 6 with simplified features to get the job done...not to spend hours and hours on a pc trying to find what is what....and why theres no option to save the custom instrument sound with the project itself? if you send the cubase project to someone he will miss the halion instrument only because halion wont export to the project folder automatically.......so sad....

I want to build my own instrument because I'm broke nigga, I'M BROKE! This software HALion costs 350 USD and you can't use the instrument in another daw as a VST without owning HALion? These would have all been useful caveats to inform early on.
