This is a very useful video. I was scratching my head to know how to approach the lightweight cabinetry and now I see it. Build a lightweight frame, use luan 1/4". The factory kitchen cabinet in my Class C is all 1/8" luan with very little framing. Such a cheapo build. I want to take it apart and rebuild it more robustly. Ditto for wardrobe. This is a wonderful guide. It does look like you are using masonite board and not plywood luan. This is not a good material for a motorhome. Masonite board is compressed cardboard, and absorbs moisture readily. It is very, very porous. Plywood is much stronger and less like blotting paper. If you ever tried to polyurethane masonite board, what does it do? Drinks it up like a sponge. Use plywood instead.

Hi, just found your channel & subscribed. Kreg jigs are great, but, I often have trouble with their screws not tightening and have to swap them out for a standard wood screw. I've tried their coarse and fine threaded types and I still have the problem. Have you experienced this? I love the light weight design, it's important in RV's to watch the weight of the vehicle.

Hi Pete, thank you for subscribing! I have not experienced that issue before, if it happened to me I would check the jig settings and make sure it’s drilling the proper depth. Maybe use a couple of scraps and try different settings and see if it makes a difference?

I've hear over the years that the Rv factories are just stink with Amish cabinet makers. HOWEVER, the cabinetry I have seen is glorified POS. My $100K Winnebago's CHERRY cabinetry is thin pine framing & boards stapled together & covered with cherry contact paper. So why Winnebago charges extra for maple contact paper baffles me. So if this is an example of Amish craftsmanship...Well. !
