I always struggled with skinny legs, particulary that outer quad swoop but I started incorporating similar with a 1 and a half rep squat and the legs grew. Definitely a keeper 👌

Just discovered your channel and am very impressed with the information and delivery. I searched your library for a video on variations/tips/common mistakes on front squats specifically. I might be blind but I didn't find it so if you would ever enjoy making such a vid, count me as at least one guaranteed view.

@DrHolmer4 жыл бұрын
Depending on your strength level you can use rubber bands or a dumbbell between the ancles while sitting on an elevated end of a bench to avoid touching the floor. If you are stronger you can invest in an adjustable bench with a leg extension attachment. Not all of those work well but those that do are worth the investment (I have one from Powertec)

Hi Eugene I am wondering whether you have access to a 4x4 calf block as this will help you get the ultimate leg workout with maximum intensity it involves five intensity techniques No1 positions of flexion No2 pre-exhaustion No3 1 1/4 reps No4 descending-set No5 giant-set this is a schedule I designed for my home gym 40 years ago which can be used in a commercial gym the exercises are as follows No1 seated leg extension No2 lying leg curls No3 heels elevated dumbbell sissy squat No4 heels elevated dumbbell hack squat this is a light leg day but a productive leg day Eugene give this schedule a try and let me know your thoughts as your opinion would be much appreciated stay safe and healthy

Hi Teo - thanks for the excellent info you provide with the exercises. I'm an older guy and have had a hip replacement and I'm not to sure about doing deep squats, as the other hip is a bit fragile but I do want to try and build up my legs again. Do have any advice on how to put some bulk back into my legs?
@zzdesolatezz4 жыл бұрын
Also, people tend to use too much weight on the leg extensions, which can also end up hurting the knees

With the quarter reps , is this affective with any muscle group ? :)
@stoempert4 жыл бұрын
Most problems/injuries i see with leg extensions is going to heavy for low reps. You can debate its usefulness for 'functional' power but for muscle definition it's essential imo.
@StefanTherese4 жыл бұрын
Hey Eugene, have one question about this biomechanic method. In terms of hypertrophy, we should always start our workout with isolation exercise (aka leg extension) and continue towards exercise where you involve more muscles inside one exercise (squat/lunge). If you use pre-exhaust method than I get it completely. But if you go from exercise where you have 100% stability from machine and great muscle burn towards exercise where you need to provide stability by yourself (barbell squat) and not so great one muscle burn but overall fatigue instead. I thought that you should start with exercise that will hit every muscle in your leg (squat/lunge) and continue to specific muscle so you burn muscle motor units inside that muscle and therefore you stimulate protein synthesis. Hope you will answer because I really want to understand 💪

Great video - just stumbled across it. Not sure if you’ll see this comment given it’s an older video but wondering how doing just these 2 quad exercises once a week will fare in terms of providing muscle growth given some of the literature out there (Dr Mike) about the optimal number of sets for quad growth being north of 12? Thanks in advance 🙏🏼
