Hey buddy, I bought the exact same model & brand, this is my favorite car! I had it for a while but when I finally quit drinking for good, I started on it. I was painting parts still attached to the molds (easier and less confusing to do that before cutting them off). Then I got curious, searched for how other people do it, and found your video. It made me realize a lot of details, such as the colors for the battery (words, terminals, water lids) and I'm glad I found it. One thing I learned after searching to correct things is not to use paint thinner, I don't think it works, use rubbing alcohol, it takes dried paint off immediately and you can rub it off with a Q-tip or easily scrape it off with a blade knife. For very fine details, such as the battery, I used a toothpick for both, the rubbing alcohol and painting. Yes, I'm very detail-oriented. BTW, this is the very first time doing models, and any type of painting, I'm not done yet, but I'm seriously loving it and patting myself on the back lol. Thanks for this tut, you taught me more than just simple modeling! If you want, I'll be glad to send pics when I'm done, my email is jamminwolf-at-hotmail-dot-com (spelled it like this so stupid bots don't take my comment down).

I bought this kit the other week after watching this video. Really nice model. Getting the rear axle and suspension to line up right was a bit fiddly, but turned out great and looks amazing. I'm glad I got this one.

I remember going to the Street Machine Nationals in Springfield Illinois about 1980. There was a whole Yenko display. Novas, Chevelles, Camaros and even some Corvairs in every color. What a sight. Those card had soul.

I chose this model because my dad owned one. I use to sneak off to drive around the block until I ran over a weed and my dad found it stuck under the the car...oops I was in trouble. He didn't do much, but told me to wait until I got my license before driving. I ended up using that car when I took my baddies out on the weekends, with my father's permission & license this time. We cruised a lot and boy this car was fast. I missed it when he sold it.

I had the AMT version of this car (as a '72, I believe) back in the day, and I remember the front fenders being separate pieces and a right royal pain to get the whole front clip together and aligned properly. The nice touch with these newer kits is the detail decals (badges, dash panel, etc.)
@RightOnReplicas8 жыл бұрын
Tim - I believe you're right. The Revell version seems to be a little easier to build.

I’m having trouble with the leaf spring and rear driveshaft to stay together
@RightOnReplicas Жыл бұрын
Cody, If they aren't sticking together, sand them down and use some superglue with an accelerator while holding them together. If they don't fit - you've got something out-of-place or the axle is tilted too far. Hope that helps. Why they don't make regular sedans 4 door "run of the mill" cars is always 2 doors famous cars and it gets boring ! I am moving toward odd ball models but they are hard to find !
@RightOnReplicas8 жыл бұрын
36 - Good question. I guess it's related to the fact that people that are generally excited about real cars prefer the ones that are faster. Tudor's are faster than 4-doors because of the weight. None-the-less, I think we''ll see more "plain Jane" cars in the future when we can get them from a 3D printer. -Doug
