Love the Perfect French series - For native english speakers and others with good command of english, here is some simple stuff passed to me to support your learning - obviously there will be some exceptions. Native english speakers launch into french learning with a really workable vocab. Some 60% of English vocab comes from French. 90% of French verbs end in ..er and almost all ..er verbs are english words - and most have either the same or similar spelling and meaning to the English verb. Also, there are several suffix conversions which migrate an English word into a French word, usually retaining the English meaning. • words in English ending in -ance and -ence are the same in French; • words in English ending in -ible and -able are the same in French; • words in English ending in -fy become …fier in French • words in English ending in -ty become -te in French • words in English ending in -te become -er in French • words in English ending in -ent have the same spelling and meaning in French • words in English ending in -ant have the same spelling and meaning in French • words in English ending in -ion have the same spelling and meaning in French; • words in English ending in -ary become -aire in French; • words in English ending in -ical end in -ique in French;

Merci. By the way, it will more natural to say "one O four to one 0 six". When you say "one hundred and four to one hundred and six" it is more formal and NOT natural. Either one is correct and this is just my opinion. J’adore tes vidéos. Votre anglais est excellent! A plus tard.

Bonjour In the book under irregular past participles there are some verbs that have regular past participles. Like Accueillir and its forms, Battre and its forms, Dormir, Fuir, Mentir, Partir and its forms, and Servir. These have past participles that follow rules of -ER(remove -er and add é), -IR(remove -r) and -RE(remove -re and add u) verbs. Please have a look. Merci Beaucoup

Bonjour, I have started your grammar course, it is great having the PDF to follow along with your videos, merci. One question - I am trying to understand the following sentence: > My understanding is this means "it has been prepared in advance". I can see something that looks like Passe Compose, avoir with the past participle été, but there is this second past participle "préparée". So this is different than just saying > - which I would understand to be standard Passe Compose. Can you tell me what this tense is that seems to be using Passe Compose with 2 past participles and if you have done a video about it? Merci. (This sentence is from an interview, not written literature, so I do not know if this is a proper tense or just something that someone said that is not a real tense).
@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Жыл бұрын
This is a passive sentence but also quite an advanced one. I personally would never use this sentence in my everyday life. Not for the tense but for the vocabulary and the sentence structure. It's quite formal :)
