I feel that trust is built when a vulnerability is presented and your partner chooses to protect you over all the other options. Building trust happens over time with small things that progress to bigger things.

can you talk about 'good enough honesty'? I have trauma, so honesty is a big one for me and lying, even little lies, are massive triggers for me. But, everybody lies on occasion, myself included.... how do you build trust while making space for the fact that sometimes, people lie. maybe they just want privacy, maybe they don't want to hurt your feelings, etc. but how do you assess and discern a 'safe' amount of dishonesty from a red flag level?

Just say "coffee shop" to begin with. If you're telling fibs without a motive, that's called pathological lying.

You "can't " I don't know what I don't know 😕 Nietzsche said "can't is a scarecrow " I say I Grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference. And forgave myself for I knew not what I was doing. ❤

How do you trust someone who keeps running back to his ex wife and she enables his lies? How do you create a healthy relationship with someone who is being influenced by their children and ex?

You don’t! Move on, stop wasting your time. This is not someone who wants YOU
@geemail369Ай бұрын
You just don't. They need to grow tf up, leave tbe victim mindset behind and take responsibility for their actions. Otherwise you'll be just their doormat.

Uuuuhh… this has to do with someone being dependable, not trust worthy…

I think she’s saying these examples of dependability are building blocks that help create trust

What do you consider trustworthy?
@brennancard9806Ай бұрын
Can’t trust someone you can’t depend on. You build trust by being consistent and following through, and also verbalizing when you can’t follow through.

Where's the line between 'they're having a bad day' and 'they're just not trustworthy'/'I can't trust them'?
