How To Build Your Own Skin Care Routine | Black Skin Care Regimen | Dry , Oily , Acne , Combo Mature

Hey Shug! Outside of skin care questions I have SEVERAL of my online friends ask where to start with their skin care routine. "WHAT IS YOUR SKIN CARE ROUTINE?" Now I am sharing where you can start and some of my personal favorite skin care products at the moment to get you started with you skin care journey !
Today I am going to discuss the process of how I explain a basic skin care routine with my clients to get them on their way to glazed donut realness. I explain what cleanser, exfoliator, serums, masks, moisturizers and eye creams that I am loving to use dry, oily, acne combo and mature skin types at the moment.

Omg! Without knowing it, I have been using this general routine! Only thing I do between the cleanse and the toner is treat any pimples I may have developed. I use a tea tree skin clarifying blemish gel, but only on the problem spot/spots. Let it dry then follow up with the toner and the rest of the routine.

Hi Lou Lou! When it comes to treating breakouts, I am a huge fan of hydrocolloid patches. Depending on how well the tea tree is diluted can determine how harsh it could be on the skin. I will leave the link to mighty patch for you : myshlf.us/p-127562 Hope this helps!

Hi Natasha! I'm so glad you've made the commitment to your skin journey! That's a whole other video. The best way to test your skin type is to cleanse your skin with a normal non active cleanser and not place anything on it for the next hour. How your skin presents itself (dry - lacking oil, dehydrated -lacking water , oily or combo ) This is a great staring point. I hope this helps ! 🧡

For the longest time I thought I had oily skin also acne prone but I went to get a facial last wk and was told I don't have oily skin I have oil build up and my skin is normal but acne prone she said. I was confused since I be shinning and oily especially if I wear makeup which I don't often and wasn't that day going to get facial. You mentioned a cleansing routine for dry skin like using a cream cleanser followed by a foaming cleanser. I see that you have a cleanser recommended for acne prone or oily skin. Similar to how u stated that a cream cleanser should be used followed by a foaming cleanser for dry skin, what would u recommend to use in conjunction with the cleansers you showed for oily/acne prone skin in case someone might want to double cleanse?

If you’re cleansing for 60 seconds that can definitely remove your sunscreen without double cleansing 😇

@@karringtonseals8573 I can attest that I cleanse for 60 seconds in the shower and will still sometimes have sunscreen on :( i recommend double cleansing, even if its cleansing with your regular cleanser twice.

Hi Shanya, No ma'am. Coconut oil is extremely high on the comodegenic scale wbich means it is incredibly clogging. I would recommend hemp seed oil instead 🧡

I've been double cleansing daily even when I'm not wearing makeup. I heard that if you wear sunscreen you should double cleanse to break it down. So does the "not double cleansing daily" still apply? If not please let me know, you'll save me some time... I hate double cleansing at night😕
