FedEx screwed up two deliveries to me, both stated "package left at door", and both times, no package. Once the package never showed up, and the other time it was at my neighbors. I have had good luck with USPS when I sell relatively cheap watches, but I would think twice on something worth more. UPS I think is the way to go. Good vid as always Federico, thank you!

Hey guy's. Is the ETA 2892A2 a luxury movement? Should I discount or select one watch over another based on the movement? I'm interested in a Swiss watch I can't find any info for other than it's name La Vallee, and movement.

Great video as usual!! I will say that I will never use FEDex, and request packages be sent to me via UPS or USPS. we just had a bad storm roll through my area, and FEDex is refusing to make delivery to my friends house, because he lives in the mountains, never mind his road is paved, cleared, and has been for the past week.

Hi Fed, Ironically I just sent you my watch for service via FedEx, but they limit the insurance to $1000. I don't know about UPS but the post office goes to at least $2000. The cost is roughly $1 for each $100 of insurance. Thanks again for your videos !
@FedericoTalksWatches6 жыл бұрын
Hi David, If you print your label online they should lift that insurance limit. The fedex stores are usually the ones that limit insurance.

I've insured items for over 20,000 with Fedex! Wasn't cheap, but you can't really put a price on peace of mind!
@davidtrust82746 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, yes -- apparently the insurance limit varies according to the item being shipped and whether or not you print the label before going to the store as Fed pointed out. At the retail store, they limited the insurance to $1K for a watch.

I would take great exception to the suggestion that FedEx is preferable to USPS or UPS. I have had way too many bad experiences with FedEx and their "customer service" is the worst! For whatever reason the company has taken a steep dive and are no longer what they once were.

Hi Federico, I have been following your channel heavily the past couple of weeks! I am looking to get my first higher end timepiece. I went from Nixon to Fossil and finally to Bulova. However, after starting small like most, I want to step it up a notch. I have fallen in love with a few MontBlanc Models, specifically the Star and Meisturstuck. Any Input on MontBlanc as my first step up watch? Thank You, Casey

Hi Federico, I hope you can comment on this one. It has been almost two years I want to buy a Jaeger-LeCoultre Q2068570 for my collection. Hey Federico, I am planning to purchase a second hand Rolex Pepsi GMT. I have two deals. One with papers, box and tags and the other with just the watch. The latter deal is $2k cheaper. My question is, how important are the box and papers? And how much will they roughly affect the future value of the watch. Thank you.
@freen7736 жыл бұрын
Box papers and tag is always good to have. I would take the one that is more expensive. But that is just me

I can’t 100% agree with the shipping methods, I have had 2 watches stolen via UPS, one was a watch going to Baume Mercier for service about 20 years ago where I was still somewhat a rookie and didn’t insure it. That was a loss to me. The second was from an AD where it was insured so they shipped me another. Here is the thing, we have heard about UPS and FedEx drivers being fired for theft, they get fired and go work for another shipping company. At USPS, it’s a federal offense to steal and carries hefty jail time so I believe people think twice. I trust USPS registered where tracking is very transparent. Or for USPS GXG where you can insure up to $5000 for international destinations.
@FedericoTalksWatches6 жыл бұрын
Our insurance unfortunately wont cover USPS... Its not about theft its about things literally just getting lost and not showing up. Ive shipped over 600 packages this year UPS and fedex. We have had a few delays but nothing was ever damaged or gone missing... Just my experience though.

USPS, what do you expect from a government service?
@juice46996 жыл бұрын
USPS Post Office employees are the worst. The worst of the worst from the bunch. Rude, Loud all in all its Horrible Customer Service. And they're still in business the problem is there is no competition in the physical local post office part of the business. There is competition in postal service but not in the physical local post office section. Also wanted to mention FedEx service is crap in my location.
@paulbelopolsky74606 жыл бұрын
You expect good service. That’s what taxes are supposed to be for.
@PointNemo96 жыл бұрын
@@paulbelopolsky7460 In reality when does the government ever provide good service? We all hate the DMV, TSA agents. All of these institutions are rude and have total contempt for customers.
@paulbelopolsky74606 жыл бұрын
FjFj, there are certain services the government provides that couldn’t be provided by a private company. The postal service is one of them. Unless of course you want to pay UPS or Fedex prices to send your mail. As for the DMV or TSA, you really think that you could privatize those services? You ready to pay a lot more for your plane tickets or parking tickets? Perhaps you should take a look at some examples of privatizing government functions like certain prisons or private security firms used by the Pentagon and see how much they’re costing the American taxpayer.
@PointNemo96 жыл бұрын
@@paulbelopolsky7460 We already pay for all of those things through taxes, if they were privatized the overall cost would be the same except it would be paid for when the service is used instead of through taxes. Also the only way to increase standards is through competition which is why government monopolies always suck.

@@ElijsDima That's true - hence the "worth his salt" expression - the word salary comes from the Latin for salt so it means they're worth what we're paying them.
