Perfect timing for me since I'm looking for a Decathlon to purchase. I'm two months into this search and have found it very frustrating. I'll preface this by I did own a Citabria many years ago, but have been out of the market for a long time. I'm getting the impression, this is currently a hot market with many planes seemingly over valued? Searching the usual online sources, many of these aircraft sell within a week or days of posting. This is a significant purchase for me and it's tough to make a sight unseen purchase this quickly. I'm a cash buyer, but if the conversation gets far enough to discuss price, there is no negotiation because of the demand. I feel like abandoning this dream, until the market cools off...if ever. Nice job on the videos though.

Wrong. You only need insurance if 1. A municipal airport demands it (and wants a kickback from the insurance agent) or 2. You took out a loan, which needs insurance. ..Airplanes and loans go together like booze and Corvettes. More expensive than most planes are A. Some airports have high tie down or hangar fees, and B. Getting ripped off. ..Know your situation and grab or skip a plane based on that situation. Maintaining a plane sharp is cheaper than neglecting it.
