Thank you I will try this I tried the first video the 2000 generator by connecting the two connectors together but mine was completely different plug yours looks like mine. When I try it I'll let you know.

Just tried it and it totally works thank you very much. 😊

Why not add an ON/Off/ON 3 Position toggle switch? Then you can enable the CO sensor when needed
@LiLGraffiti3Ай бұрын
@@halholland1637 that’s totally feasible and a great idea. I just made this video as a video to help. People understand how they work and where the wires are and what wires to either eliminate or to modify so everyone can make their generator worked the way they needed to, but if an on off switch works for your application, I think that’s a great idea.

good call, sick of the nanny state coming up with ways to protect idiots. I was looking at the newer generators and a LOT of them have CO sensing now and I just figured it would be a pain in the ass way beyond necessary.

Doesn't work with the 9 wire connector on the Predator 13000 for those who need to hear it from a guy that did this to his BRAND NEW one and then spent an hour reattaching the harness. JFYI

What did u do to bypass the co on the 13000?
@stinerart1Ай бұрын
@@demgaming8873 I cut the 9 wires after I removed the sensor from the bracket then I soldered 3ft of wire in between so I could move the sensor away from the generator. I put it low on the wall by the gen and it has been great. It took an hour to solder and heat shrink then protect wires with winding electrical tape but it is fool prooof now.
@stinerart1Ай бұрын
@@demgaming8873 if I could do it over I would use 10-12 wire irrigation cable. It uses aluminum wire I think and would have a better finished look. I don’t know what the magic distance away from gen is for success but look at the area and it should be obvious where would be best. May work just long enough to be on the ground but best to have plenty of length. Can use crimp connectors too but be sure to leave room for hands and tools because it is kinda short so be sure before you cut Good luck!

Take the sensor off stick it in a 3 mil vac bag and duct tape it super good OR put the sensor in a soap holder that you would take camping place the sensor inside, tape it up then silicon where the wires come out.
@Brookside97523 күн бұрын
Why not just put a piece of tape over the louvers of the sensor?
@LiLGraffiti317 күн бұрын
@@Brookside975 I run that generator in the back of the truck like that all the time it’s mounted to the skid so no matter what you do the CO2 levels build up, no matter what and it will always shut down. This was a permanent solution to not having it shut down for CO2 ever again.
@BlastedKat2 ай бұрын
Correct, it's an idiot preservation device. Don't need it.

Move the Sensor to outside of the the box and it works just fine. No need to cut anything. I just ziptied to the side of frame
@LiLGraffiti32 ай бұрын
@@chadlee76 yeah for some people that could be the solution but for most it doesn’t take a lot of CO2 for that center to get set off, but that’s a really good work around

@@LiLGraffiti3 I was just scared to cut wires on it. Just bought it and it wouldn't run for more than about 10 seconds. Was happy and surprised it worked, just in case someone else like me wasn't comfortable cutting on a 800 dollar generator.
@stinerart1Ай бұрын
@@chadlee76 This is actually the best solution I have found on the new 9 wired ones. It will take some time to extend the wires out of the enclosure but it will def work the best. A 10-12 wire thermostat/irrigation cable would be perfect.
