She is so correct! I cut my cardio (4or5 classes(including dance instead of 9or10 per week) and increased my weight training and just in a few weeks I've noticed such a change. Please please please focus on full body weight training. I'm a huge fan of cables and bands. Bands can be done while watching tv

I am new here. This was fantastic and really appreciate the clear info. So far I have watched three of your vids. I think there is light at the end of my tunnel. Thank you, Melissa, for taking the time to educate, inspire, and motivate on this crazy thing of the post-40's dilemmas.

This is very helpful! It's so good to have hope that I can take off some of this excess body fat at my age and stage. I especially appreciate the macros because all the info is for 20 something women leaves me feeling unconfident moving forward because of the additional challenges of NOT being 23. This gives me the confidence to actually stick to it because I can hope to see results! Thank you for being there for our age group. Thank you for the app option too, part of my frustration has been MFP has 30 options for everything I search for and the macros are completely different for every one!

Thank you so much for the information. This is very informative and I appreciate it! I can't seem to get the weight around my waistline off. I weigh about 150. I will try this strategy. Fingers crossed works! I've been looking into liposuction because I am that desperate to get it off. Thanks again for putting this out there for all of us struggling with weight loss.

I'm 61 this year, started packing on the lbs after hysterectomy and HRT. Quit the HRT after gaining 75lbs on it and not getting answers or help. Now I am 100 lbs overweight, feel like I'm in my thirties, frustrated and confused. So will your info work for my age group?

If you work out in the early morning how would you recommend eating your carbs before strength training?
@MelissaNeill3 жыл бұрын
Banana in a protein shake is a good carb source for early mornings but I have chicken and rice. You get used to it.

I'm turning 40 this year and noticed cardio isn't cutting it anymore. I use to lose weight fast but I gain weight easily. I was in the best shape in my early thirties! It's so frustrating that I feel like I can't get that body back. I hope this helps me!

Hi Melissa, I noticed on Cronometer you had picked the net carb selection instead of total carbs. So when starting is that your recommendation and why? Just wanting to start on your recommendations and set it up properly.

That is correct

I know this sounds backward, but I have a question about carbs for brain function. I have found that my brain functions more clearly on higher fat than higher carb. I guess I'm still considered low carb, but I do have around 100 or fewer grams of carb/day. I don't like letting my fat fall too low. I also tend to suffer from depression, and this is how I experimented and found higher fat to feed my depressed brain better. My main goal is to keep my carb+fat grams at or under my total protein grams. I just wondered if you had ever worked with ladies who did better on moderate fat and carb? I have my calories set at 1830, so not super low cal. I enjoy your videos! Thanks so much!
@tampa13422 жыл бұрын
Mental clarity is probably due to the lecithin in the fat. You can buy soy lecithin in capsules.

I just calculated my calories and it says maintenance is 1500 calories, so that means I would have to eat 1100-1300 calories which is extremely low. I am confused. I am 37, 5'5 and 140 pounds right now which is quite overweight for me. I am usually 115 pounds and can sustain that on 1500 but since I've gained up to 140 I can't just eat 1500 and lose weight even with exercise.

Question 😊 I understand the concept of macros and setting goals in grams. I eat the same every day to make it easy. But I see how others are able to be flexible and if they don’t meet their macros, they know what kinds of foods to add so that they hit their numbers. I find this part very stressful. If I go off my set plan but have eaten healthy all day, I may not meet my macros, I am often at a loss as to what type of food to add since every food has multi-macros, it’s difficult to hit the mark unless every day is preplanned. On the days that you allow flexibility, how difficult is it for you to still meet your macros and do you have any tips?

Wonderful video. I amy66 and weight 165 and would like to get back to 140 (before virus weight) I have been doing MFP and it is not working for me. On the cronometer site the calories they show for me is alittle over 1,500. I used all the macor suggestions you gave. Would I need a calorie deficit of 200 to 300 calories per day? That would bring me to around 1200?
@MelissaNeill3 жыл бұрын
Never go below 1500 calories.

I don't agree with that assessment of 1200 calories. No-one should be on that. Period.
