While it is nice to see the derivation of the factors, it is much simpler as follows: For 90% silver coins, Price multiplier = spot price/1.40 for circulated. For Kennedy half dollars, price multiplier = spot / 3.38. No need to calculate the ounces of silver, especially to 6 or a ridiculous 11 significant figures.

Very good discussion. Unfortunately, you make the mistake of assuming that one dollar face value is the same as a TROY ounce, which is what the spot price is based on; it is close, but it is not the same.

MATTHEW THE MEXICAN Go on eBay and buy the $17.00 an ounce silver buys. Also apmex and a bunch of places sells bars to. Also put your money into some 1 gram bars of gold. Just think if you were to buy 1 gram of gold every week, you’d be rich by the time you hit an ounce.

You can use google to find a local coin shop or precious metal shop in your area. Or you can check out companies like Apmex or Jmbullion online store. All these place should have junk silver. Thanks for watching.
