Excellent 👌I take these calculations would work as well in the case of stairs with consistent steps - more common nowadays due to CNC. A renovation is coming up in 12 - 18 months where I will find myself dealing / building staircases - I trully hope your instructional videos will come handy if for some reason I find myself messing up the works!

another great video. thank you. question: are their classical ratios for face skirts and wall skirt sizes. I assume that different architectural styles call for different relationships (to the rise and run) but curious if you know where we can learn more about that. I'm particularly interested in the proper ratios for a craftsman/bungalow. thanks!

The most common is 1 x 12. I don't have any formulas, but if anyone else does feel free to share them.

Is there a way to recut the outer boards and recreate the side template and drop it it and screw that to the struts?

How much stair skirt should show? Let's say inches from the stair nose to top of skirt? Thanks

It can be even with top of step or taller. Most of the time it's about 3 inches above nosing or front of step.

If you go 8" when your biggest measurement is 7"3/4. Won't you have at least a 1/4" gap on top of all the threads?
