I like your calculation! It's a lot simpler than most people I've seen on KZbin. A lot easier to comprehend. I've been wracking my brain for 2 weeks to get my calculation right with different vessels. Thank you!

Hey Tasha, the first thing that I do is come up with a formula for my candle. so for instance if I have an 8 oz vessel I work that numbers for that vessel (x amount of wax + x amount of FO = Fill line) and this number is for one candle. I usually perform testing at this stage to see if my formula works. what I mean by works is do I have the correct amount of FO is it too strong or not strong enough. Then I go back to my formula (x amount of wax + x amount of FO = Fill line) and fill in my test #'s if they changed. So from there if you decide you want to make lets say a batch of 12 candles you just multiple your formula (x amount of wax + x amount of FO = Fill line) by 12. or 6 or however many you need. But my formula always start with one candle in my vessel size. There may be better ways to do it but this works for me. Let me know if this makes sense or if I need to do a video. Thanks for watching

Great video! How do you determine % of fragrance load to add? In the 8oz jar you used 7% FL but in 4oz jar you used 9% FL. It is just personal preference or a science to % your using?
@seasonscandlecompany9609
@seasonscandlecompany9609 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Hon. Yes it is personal preference. Things to consider are: How much FO can the wax hold, How strong do you want your candle. I normally start with around 10% and test up or down from there. But for the purposes of this video I wanted to give varying % to work with. Hope this help.

Can you do a fragrance with the initial candle jar 8oz I got lost when you put an example of a 4oz … I know I can probably double formula but would be better if you make a video on a 8oz jar for a fragrance candle 😊 thank you

Do you ever do wax melts? If so how do you measure and weigh wax into molds?
@seasonscandlecompany9609
@seasonscandlecompany9609 Жыл бұрын
I actually do make wax melts but I use the regular clam shell mold. You should be able to use the same concept. What is your fill weight, decide on the FO load and go from there. What type of mold do you use?

Hi how do you determine fill line amount?
@seasonscandlecompany9609
@seasonscandlecompany9609 Жыл бұрын
The fill line is determined by the vessel that you are using. The company that you purchase your vessels from typically has that information listed in the description section for the product.

@@seasonscandlecompany9609 if you have 1 ounce bottle of FO. And you want to do 18% how much wax? I got 198 grams but that don’t seem right. Isn’t that way to much oil? I bought trial bottles, so see about the sent.

Why the 9% fragrance how did you decide on it
@seasonscandlecompany9609
@seasonscandlecompany9609 Жыл бұрын
The 9% was just for the purposed of the video. You can decide how strong or light you want your fragrance to be. I typically start my testing at 8-9% and go up or down from there depending on hot / cold throw. Hope this helps.

How do I find out the fragrance load?
@seasonscandlecompany9609
@seasonscandlecompany9609 2 жыл бұрын
The Max load is determined by the type of wax that you use. From there you can decide to use as little or as much as you desire base on that. I typically use 8-10% depending on the scent that I'm going for.
