There is the aspect of resting that ties in to this as well. I find that sometimes you just have to stay put an wait it out. Don't follow the impulse to do something let the mind wander and it will eventually calm down.

Thank you for your suggestions. Very inspiring. First I thought it would be just too difficult to discipline myself, but I think you are right. Having a structure and taking care of my body and mind for a healthy state of myself would be the best way to have the true ownership of my life. Hope I could be one of the INFPs to bring such beautiful examples of living and inspire many as you do. Thank you again and good luck with your work!

Walking outdoors really helps a lot! I'm in Central Florida, though, where "Mad Dogs and Englishmen Go Out in the Midday Sun," so during most of the year I'm better off walking when the sun is LOW in the sky--if it has even risen yet, or if it hasn't set yet. The dawn and twilight time are balmy times to walk!

What works for me is literally focusing on the problem at hand. It triggers that part of my mind that is obsessed with fixing the problem, and I usually end up so focused that I get tunnel vision. So it works even though it may have some side effects lol.Works like a charm actually.

Dan, good coverage on this topic. There are various elements that certainly help to focus. This week in particular Im struggling to focus, I think its a sense of overwhelm with what Im trying to achieve, even though I have a "vision board" of instructions and outcomes. This leads to procrastination. Thanks for the video!

When you're feeling uneasy or anxious, ask yourself "Am I still breathing?" - at that exact moment, your thought will come to the PRESENT and you'll focus on your breath. Although for only a split second, you'll actually be present and not in your thoughts. You will likely notice you're holding your breath or that you're taking very shallow breaths. Take a slow, deep breath... You just came back into the present for X amount of time. Best feeling in the world. I got this from Eckhart Toles "The Power of NOW"

Wow! This is so me! Your information is very helpful. I always thought it was just my Gemini Twin mind of two people chatting all the time. Now I realize it's also part of being an INFP. I think I'm doomed. But, your advice is great. I have found an alarm helps me to stay focused on projects. It does help - sometimes. Thank you.

thanks for these ideas, I do relate to the things you said. However, I'd say it's very tough for me to program my activities that much. I feel awful when I try to plan things in details. I usually just get an idea of what I want to be doing and let it happen. I admit I'm more productive when I'm a bit stressed out or in a deadline. I even enojy life the most when I know time's going to end at some point. But still, I'm not able to give myself deadlines. It costs me tonnes of energy. Sometimes I feel a bit trapped in this "percieving" thing, blessing the fact that I've always been doing what love (more or less...), so it's come natural to me to get my work done.

wow - I'm like 4 minutes into this video and it is just baaaaaaaaaaaaaad! The best advice for the question "How to shut of the rambling in your head" is "Tell your head to shut off"? IT DOES NOT WORK THIS WAY! My head works ALL the time. There is no one moment shutting up. Only if I'm doing something I realy enjoy I may be in sinc with my head. But its still working. Meditation does not work for me cause my head thinks all the time. I can't tell my head to be quite. It does not follow this command. So if you want to help me give me advice that helps me dealing with a head, that does not obey my order. I can't plan in advance. If I tell my head to be creative at 1pm - maybe thats the time were it wants to sleep or to have a deep discution about life or what ever. I can not plan such things. I can not concetrate on one topic for a month or two if Im not obssesed with it for that long time. I could go on, but I quit here. Im like two year late on this video, so noone will care. If you have advice for me, just put it out. And don't talk around it. JUST SAY IT.

That's' weird because our brain only runs off glucose! Remember, it's not about whether your eating fat vs protein vs carbs; it's about whether your eating whole foods (primarily plant-based) vs processed foods.

Brains can run off ketones as well :)

I can attest to wikipedia's rabbit hole. It happens like this I'm intriguied by a fact I read somewhere or a while ago [wonderwoman is omniglot she can speak all languages ]let's say a wonderwoman I read it,as I'm reading more characters pop up, so to better understand the context I read that character's bio too. I read the whole Avatar the lastairbender wikia. And I enjoy while I'm doing it and consuming all the tidbits, but then I force myself to sleep and regret all the wasted time.I promise myself I won't do it tommorow. And it happens a week later. And at night this random ideas pop-up. I use google keep a simple note taking app to keep my idea. I also use simple paper notebook or back of the book to write stuff down.

I really liked the video until you started talking about diet. I am not a dietician or anything but our brains run on glucose, we NEED carbs so be careful with the information that you spread. Thanks for the other tips tho.
@enfp7 жыл бұрын
Well there is the whole Keto diet and such, so that isn't exactly true. We're used to running on carbs, but I doubt you'll find eating a carb heavy diet and great long term brain function go hand in hand.
