Most shoe stores have boxes of those disposable footies for people trying on shoes but forgot to wear socks. Same material and texture as generic panty hose and works great for this effect.

I'm glad things are approaching normal for you and you can relax a little bit. Your videos are so informative and entertaining. I can't wait to try out this pain job on some kits. I also think it's fantastic that you're utilizing Tamiya so prominently. My local group really pushes lacquers and I live in a small apartment with my family and a shared workspace, so the fumes are a no go for me. I know that you'll keep up the good work, and hope to throw my hat in the ring for a commission at some point (when the wife clears the cost lol)

Thanks man. Yeah the Tamiyas lack of strong odor in comparison to other chemicals is part of the reason o use them as i am well living in a small space lol. Just let me know what you want built when you're ready and we'll talk 👍🏽

Firstly.... hope you(r) family is doing well, Wife, Dad ..... Yourself..... are doing well!!! As far as video present. ... Thanks for the tip!! I do have a question....I'm a model ( ship )-builder [for now], but I do have ALL 1/25 AMT Indy cars and would like to build the car body and panels with "carbon fiber". So my questn is do I "panty hose" the entire body, half of the body, keeping in mine suspension, fibre weave pattern, and painting interior of the cockpit??? What do you have as suggestion(s)?? Thanks for your time, Great Video ( esp. the keeping weave pattern the same ), and hope Fam is doing better!!
@Curioventura3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much man, I really appreciate the kind concern for us! I'd cut out templates for each panel, tape them on and paint one portion at a time. Mask off everything as you go, part by part and then once you're done, peel all the masking off and clear the entire car in one piece
@Hey_MikeZeroEcho22P3 жыл бұрын
@@Curioventura Got it!! Wish me luck, it'll probably be awhile....maybe Next year that I might start on a set of Indy cars, possibly, 3 - 5 at a time and build them like an assembly line.....1st part here, here, here & here...2nd part here, here, etc... But NOW My question is..... did ALL Indy cars have carbon fiber bodies?? Starting from around the mid/late-80's???

One question: I built a motorbike recently, n a nice candy blue custom spray job, with 3 coats of tamiya clear (spray can). The seat came off, and I reglued it, and accidently got a bit of glue on the tank which pretty much had the effect of taking a key to a car. It screwed it up. So, superglue, or Tamiya cement? I'm doing a Custom Cafe Racer atm n really don't want the same thing to happen again. Accidents happen. Great info on this, solves one of my problems as the mud guard on the bike I'm building should be carbon fibre and I'd been thinking about how to do it. This is perfect! :)
@Curioventura4 жыл бұрын
Man I can't tell you how many times rogue drops of superglue has screwed up my work lol. I feel your pain. Theres no going back as you have to redo the whole thing sadly. Shoot me pics on Instagram of the build please!

Thank you so much for the info and all your videos have helped me tremendously with my custom paint jobs!!!! I paint primarily with Tamiya spray cans both TS and AS (some point I will have the courage to use my airbrush again), is there a danger with lacquers sticking to the mesh after I apply the lighter coat and let it dry? Again many thanks and I wish you and your family the best during these difficult times

@Curioventura2 жыл бұрын
How tight you make it determines how large or small of a pattern you'll get so it's really up to you and whatever you're painting to get the proper scale. I used gunmetal

0:01 LOL The mic slowly starts to fall from the start of the video. 🤣 0:17 Great to see you're (sort of) back. 1:45 Incoming spoon warning! 🥄 Pantyhose for GunPla? Interesting... 3:42 Ah~ Gotcha. This makes sense. Definitely a good use to replicate the carbon fiber aesthetic with paint. 5:21 #GustOfWind 💨 7:43 Wow! That is very impressive! 8:26 Impressive! It's cool to know you can also tint it to change the color while keeping the carbon fiber aesthetic. 8:52 That looks cool how you accented certain areas with the carbon fiber design. 9:57 Thank you for the quick channel update. Yikes that your wife got hurt, but I'm glad your wife is doing better now. Yea ... 4 months of being the sole provider & care taker would be a great reason to stay away from YT for a bit to take care of what's most important in life which is family. I look forward to your Gunpla videos with your father. But definitely do it later when you can do so safely. 11:22 As you mention, subscriber/follower count is really not that important IMO. I think it's better to organically grow your social network channels by posting consistent, quality content. Too many people worry about numbers; ultimately for 'clout' (as the kids say) and to increase the amount of money they get through KZbin ad revenue, Twitch subscriptions, Patreon donations, and other things like that. But I think that (again) it's better to just be sincere & passionate about the hobby primarily. If people really enjoy & appreciate your content, some will naturally be willing to support you financially if they're able to afford it. While I do appreciate some people that host giveaways and things like that to increase subscription count and to show appreciation for the people have been watching & commenting, I don't think it's really necessary nor helpful long term since you often see people subscribe if it is a requirement for a giveaway and then after the giveaway period ends, they often unsubscribe. Many will even go on saying that the giveaway was rigged if they don't win out of frustration. Thank you for posting this video and giving us quick update on what's been going on.
