I know I’m late, but I just wanted to say thank you so much for these tips. I grew up raised by a white family. Bless their hearts they had no idea what they were doing with my hair. After years of getting it straightened I decided to not let anyone touch my hair and to “care” for it myself. I would just use shampoo and conditioner run my hands through my hair, put product in and run my hands through my hair and that was it. I wouldn’t try braids or anything because I didn’t know how or felt like I would look stupid. Anyways long story short after watching your video I decided to try your styling tips and have gained so much confidence and can’t thank you enough for sharing this info and taking the time to go through everything, especially washing tips.❤❤❤

For me personally, flat twisting is so much harder than cornrows. Cornrows I learned by just observingt he pattern, same thing with braids and feeling how my mom was braiding my hair. On the other hands, flat twists I cannot learn from just observing, even after watching tutorials on them my brain and hands still cannot comprehend how to do them and it's frustrating. I've heard some negative stuff about cornrows but I'm sticking with them and hope they work just fine with my hair.

Your routine so similar to mine. Personally I don't twist my hair for the shampoo process, only during the conditioning process after I detangle my hair and rinse out while is in twist. So this would act like a leave in conditioner. For styling so far I do like two low buns with mousse or sometimes with no mousse at all and that would have been my style for the week until my next wash day (once a week).

This video is really helpful. I’m autistic and I have adhd which makes doing my hair extremely challenging. I start college soon and im far away from home so my mom can’t do my hair but I also don’t have to money to pay for someone else to do my hair. Doing my hair has always been incredibly draining so I would just put braids in so I won’t have to deal with it for two months. I’m glad I took the time to watch this video because I was just going to cut all my hair off so I won’t hit a burnout in college. I’m also happy that you showed how it can last up to two weeks. One week styles add a lot of stress for me. My hair dries quickly so I’m sure I’ll have to oil my hair throughout the week but other than that are hair is pretty similar.

I'm a lazy natural. I don't like doing a lot of things to my hair, and I care for mine almost exactly like you do. I do apply my gel on soaking wet hair, but I diffuse it or sit under my hooded dryer for about 15-20 min. It doesn't completely dry my hair but it's dry enough to go out. I don't like bonnets either they really do mess up your style. I use a scarf or a Loc Soc and just fluff in the morning.

Yeah a lot of manipulation is not best depending on your hair type. I really only comb through once a week when I wash and moisturize once a week. Then throughout the week, I try to use my fingers to manipulate. My hair breaks easy and knots easy so I just leave it alone 😪

My hair is so fone that i put a braid on each side while in the shower. I wring most of the water, and then i apply my liquid leave-in and proceed to braid. A day or so later, I apply some morrocan oil treatment to each side (leaving the braids). A few days later, i undo each braid and comb thru with my charcoal infused wet brush comb. I apply some camellia/pumpkin seed oil mix to my scalp. I further stretch each braid when I rebraid. I have been wearing headwraps as of late.
