Been in the natural hair game for 12 years now. I think one of the most important thing I've learned is not doing my hair when I'm tired, in a rush or upset. You have to be GENTLE with your hair. Hair is not chain links. You'd be surprised how rough and hasty you are with your hands when you are not in a good headspace. *But let's talk about your glowing skin tho😁*
@thefactsaccordingtogabbie1495 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's so true. My wash day process is 2 hrs ith the 3 steps i do( shampoo 1x, condition for 5 mins, and deep conditon with heat for 30 mins, then cold rinse for 5 mins) and my final step is detangle, moisturize and seal then style it up so it can last the rest of the week or 4 days. Somebody said that was too much. I'm like....... no it's not! usually my wash day is set on a day i look forward too and don't have nothing else to do and got going on and hope don't pop up on that day. Them two hrs i cater to my hair give it TLC that it need and deserve.

I think the most important things I've learned from my natural hair journey is, - Your hair is not theirs - To learn to read ingredients and know what they do rather than watching to see if the product works for someone else. - The first 5 ingredients is what the product has the most of.

My lazy routine is cowash weekly, then leave in, then gel. I detangle with my leave in. Without the gel it takes an hour, with the gel it takes 2. You can skip the gel. I shampoo & DC once a month. Just make sure you use a cowash that actually cleanses and you should be good

ALL GLORY TO JESUS :) I've come a long way but I feel lost lol. Learnt a whole lot but never really developed a proper hair care regimen so doing some research.Your vids are incredibly helpful.Thanks much.Gives me the info and confidence to take care of this hair God has blessed me with.

I’m thirteen years old and I just started trying to really take care of my hair during quarantine and I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing.Ive done a lot of research and I have found out that o have low porosity hair and it my hair sheds a lot and I’ve been trying rice water for about a month now and it’s not working.Also I can’t find any gel that would slick down my hair and have absolutely no clue where to start!Im starting to think Ima be bald head forever😭

TheLexiShow sometimes gels can dry out your hair and if you’re wearing ponytails or buns, it can cause tension on your edges which might make them break. If you haven’t already checkout videos on how to make flaxseed gel (moisturizer - won’t dry your hair) or even using a heavier butter to lay flyaways and frizz (Shea/castor oil). Have fun on your journey!!!

Okay big tip, ignore every single video/trend/advice on how to get growth fast, because there's always something new, and three years later you'll still be where you started or worse. Focus on advice that teaches out to keep the ends of your hair on your head, because that's where length retention mostly happens. Focus on the health of your scalp and hair. I think the most important thing is the thickness of your individual strands, a lot of advice/styles/low manipulation ideas can become destructive for fine strands, Curl type, porousity, density are mildly helpful or not at all. Oh and when you get to shoulder length, put your hair up in not too tight updos, most people's hair isn't being retained past their shoulders because they're running against clothes and fabric wearing their hair down and out and over months and years that sucks moisture and grates their inches away.

I'm here from a black british afro doc I watched. This was super helpful, I've taken from it that I should find a consistent hair washing routine and to moisturise consistently. I'm super curious about heatless stretching and the types of moistures to use. I've never been able to grow my hair into a thick luscious afro like my sisters. it's a cute afro but still very fine, it's also at that awkward stage of not being long or short but it doesn't want to seem to grow more so I look forward to learning more.
