I've only seen the shoe portion of boots get cleaned. The shaft portion that goes up over the ankle towards the calf muscles, never seems to get cleaned by shoe shiners. Okay, so they might say that part of the boot rarely gets dirty, but hey don't even condition that part of the boot, even though it IS leather.

@t0nedaddy9 жыл бұрын
+evan bowling The dampness in the boots from wearing the same boots everyday could likely be the cause of abnormal stretching. Any footwear needs to be completely dry before wearing them again. Stretching, leather deterioration, and other advanced wear will accelerate if you don't.

So I have broken SO MANY of the rules without knowing it! My Mom never learned how to clean boots because Grandpa did it then when her feet grew she got a high arch that won't go in any kind of boot. He died before I was born......so I am in my own learning. Never knew that you shouldn't where the same boots 2 days in a row. I where the same pair every day or almost. I have my good pair, Old West that have vintage in style, a pair that I actually found at Goodwill haven't worn then yet because I need to treat them and get a pair if new insoles and my very first pair of boots bought for my 19th birthday Ariat Fat babys (couldn't afford anything else). Those poor fat babys the never have gotten the best care, they are al ml ost worn in the toe have a cut in the toe (not all the way through) and the insole has a small chunk out of it, but I love them!! Wish I could find somebody like this to learn the ropes!

I have Bick 4 and Pecard Leather Dressing for my cowboy boots. The Bick 4 is a little more liquid-y, and the Pecard is more of a paste, almost like a wax. So I'm curious which should I use to care for my leather cowboy boots? Should I clean first, then put Bick 4 on to moisturize, and then finish up with the Pecard Dressing (the waxy paste)? It seems like they're different products, and both seem to do a good job, but I don't know what sequence to apply them. The woman above does a great job, but I didn't see her use any kind of wax like the Pecard. Would love to know from boot professionals what I should be doing with these two different products.

i just bought a new pair of riding tall boots (english but that doesn't really matter right now really) which are made of synthetic leather. i clean them everytime i used them, what i do is just with a wet cloth i rub gently to remove any dirt then apply some shoe polish and wait for it to dry and then i apply some baby oil with a soft cloth all throughout the bot and wait for the boot to absorbe it. because i read that baby oil is great for preserving synthetic leather specially on footwear and make it last longer. is what i am doing ok for making my boots last a bit longer? they were very expenssive for being pleather boots!
