They look really happy birds! We have not seen you for such a long time, good to see you back, when Mike puts the latch on your laying box lid, all you need is a block screwed to the upright timber, and a simple turn block, that way you will not be fiddling around trying to get a clip into a staple. I'm very happy to see you on-lone again. Mike is handy. What he sets his mind to, he gets it done. You have a fine flock and that rooster, Henry, looks like my old Americana. He was a handsome fellow and not shy about letting us know it LOL. I like hearing him on Mike's videos and tell Mike, hey, man, he's crowing about you! Tell Mike to get the darn black radishes in! Roots can go as deep as 8 feet and break up plowpan and hard spots. Happy New Years to you and the crew.

We had an automatic door on the coop. I would monitor the closing sometimes. The hens would hang out real close to the hen house when it was getting about time then march in just minutes before the door closed.

Thanks for watching! So far everyone is in for the night long before the door closes. You can set the door two ways. Set by sunrise/dusk or time. I have the setting on time to make sure it's closing about an hour after dark.

Put poop drop board under perches. Game changer, just scrap in bucket daily. Takes me less than 5 mins. Then pot some pdz for horses

Thanks for watching Sally! If you're starting out with baby chicks I like buying or hatching mine right around late February-early March. This timeframe always worked great for me, because right around late July-August you should start seeing your first eggs! Just as long as you have somewhere warm to raise them if it's still winter weather. Good luck!
