Hey guys, here's a quick and easy Dremel rotary tool project that's great for beginners (or anyone for that matter). Wooden spoons are a classic carving project, and although usually they're carved with knives it's also fun to make them with a power tool. The design of this one is a more classic cooking-style spoon which makes it useful for you or for a friend as a personalized gift. Enjoy!

If you're looking for more wood carving designs and videos, I recommend watching the video where I carve a greek paddle with a Dremel 4300. I use Walnut, Poplar, and Epoxy! The epoxy was a hassle but came out really cool.

Never seen your videos before but the almighty algorithm seems to have liked this one, suggested it to me and I'm happy I watched it. I've had the tools to do this for some time but have never tried to to something like this before so now I kind of want to. I also happen to have a Laser engraver so I may be able to carve something nice then personalize it further or do something like this for gifts. I've always loved "making things" so this looks like a fun hobby to explore, though cautiously since it seems like could be easy to get careless and skin part of your hand.

I love this hobby - it’s pretty accessible since it doesn’t require a lot of equipment. Caution is good, I’ve slipped up a couple times but nothing too bad. Do you like the laser engraver? I was thinking about getting one

I ❤️ your videos. So I wanted to tell you that I inherited a Dremel. My first project was making a cave out of sticks for my daughters mice. I burned the wood more than carved it. But the mice love it. And if it weren't for you, I would never have had the confidence to even try! ☺️

@@LogsCarvingClub i do have Dremel Stylo. I love it, but it's not really that powerful and it will lose speed easy under pressure. I mostly use it for detail engravings on wood and brass, there it's small size and lack of vibration is a huge benefit.
@JessicaAVoigt
@JessicaAVoigt Жыл бұрын
@@LogsCarvingClub I've only used it so far for some easy works like cutting/ carving MDF and light engraving in acrylic and brass, but I love it. It is great, but it is definitely less powerful than the other Dremels. If I'm not mistaken the max speed is 22000 rpm. It has a nice little mechanism that when you put too much pressure or the bit is struggling to cut/ engrave something, it stops itself as to not break the burr and not damage the motor. But if you'd like to check some work done with it, Matt from the channel Cornelius Creations does some carving/ engraving with it and seems like it can handle itself. Like @nekoandpiano said above, it has very little vibration so you can make some really steady lines. I hope this helped you!

I have a rotary tool I haven't touch in over a decade. All I used to use it for was drilling tiny holes but now see that it's useful for so much more. Can you recommend an accessory kit that would have all the attachments needed for this project? I have a Harbor Freight nearby and of course there is always Amazon but I cant find a set that has everything that I can tell. Great video and nice outcome. Thanks.

Which Dremel do you think best for carving wood like you do for long periods of time? I’ve pretty much bought all the bits in your bio plus a Kutzall for a MakerX rotary tool. After using it for a bit I realized it wasn’t doing good. I recently realized I have an outlet in my new back yard so decided to look into some good corded rotary tools.

Where would you get a board like this untreated? I assume most at lowes and home depot are treated and I'm brand new to dremel so i was just curious.. awesome video i love the simplicity of not using 5 $2000 tools that i don't have 😂
@LogsCarvingClub
@LogsCarvingClub 6 ай бұрын
Thank you! That’s the goal of this channel to keep tools to a minimum. I believe I got this at a local lumber yard and just made sure it was untreated by asking the employees. Lots of times they have hardwoods that are untreated, it seems most softwoods are treated though.

Love your content and just followed on Instagram. Do you know if your bits would fit on my Goaxee rotary tool? It's one of those off-brand Dremel that I bought without doing research (my bad I know) P.S. what's a good mask and pair of gloves to get as well. Right now I'm just using a regular face mask but I don't have gloves

Thanks! I’m not sure about that tool, but it would probably work. For mask I am really careful and wear a 3M p100 mask. I don’t wear gloves because I’m scared of getting them caught in a bit and twisting a finger off
