Another great video! I understand this is your 'job' now and need to appeal to the largest audience you can, but I say fish for what you want to fish for. It comes through in the videos when you are having a good time, and that makes for good times for us watching the videos!

Never been carp fishing in my life, but I have been catfishing my entire life and can’t see where someone could like one without liking the other. Fishing is fishing and if you’re catching you should be enjoying it no matter the species!

Thanks for this fish filled episode....sets me back many years as my first catch was a big carp and that got hooked (pun intended). I even fished off the fantail of a Navy destroyer on patrol off coast of Vietnam in the sixties. The skipper would let us fish on Sunday's and we would give our catches to the stewards in the officer mess and they loved it. Still a fisherman to this day.....

The very first carp I caught was an accident at a local city pond. Using an ultralight rig, was using a small hook and some canned corn to try and catch some stocked trout. It was an epic battle with a 22" carp on 2lb. mono. I was so tired after fighting the fish, I had to sit down. A memory I'll NEVER forget!
@CarbonylReductase2 жыл бұрын
Love the carp fishing! I have learned to tie my own hair rigs - pretty easy and plenty of KZbin tutorials to point you in the right direction. There are also some pack bait holders that look like springs. Much cheaper and even after catching 20 pounders they hold up well. The pack bait you use is my favorite as well. Thanks for all of your videos

Glad to see you gaining confidence in the hair rig/fake corn. I had no doubt you would- I went through the same exact process. Really cool of you to share, it's great to see someone else discover how fun the golden bonefish are to target. The bad thing is that I only want to carp fish anymore, it's ruined me for other kinds. They're genuinely damn good smoked too, high in oleic acid (healthy fat) and absolutely delicious and they take the smoke taste really well. The meat is almost like pork or something... they are truly excellent smoked. Keep em coming man! Loving it.

@___ben___2 жыл бұрын
I'll let Kayak Catfish (or Catfish and Carp) cover the basics, but for future reference I have learned some things about this mixture (it's what I use as well): 1, it's best made ~30 minutes to an hour before you use it. The panko needs time to soak in the corn juice. It's not packable at all within the first 15-30 minutes. 2, be careful when you drain the corn. It needs to be pretty much fully drained. Too wet and the consistency isn't right. If it's too dry (hard to do) you can add a little bit of lake water. Too wet and it's really hard to get back to good. 3, I like to mix the panko and jello first, then the corn. Easier to mix consistently. And 4, do not overmix! I learned this the other month when I was fishing with my brother. His pack bait was much better, fluffier and easier to pack, whereas mine was hard and not ideal. The reason is I overmixed it. Just need to mix it together quick and consistent and let it rest. That's about it. Enjoy! This kind of fishing is FUN. Love to see the enthusiasm, I can definitely relate lol
