If you're fishing moving water I'd use shrimp or a chicken liver where I live depending on where you're fishing bluegill works sometimes but it's not the best bait one of the best baits for the State of Texas is Nightcrawlers chicken liver shad and shrimp

This is a guild for baby catfish. If you like to catch monsters, throw in the middle of any lake, use shrimp, and if not shrimp, use a Purch or any small fish or cut up fish.

Try this : white bread, break about half of it off, put your hook through and either 1, fold it in half and smush it and let it float or 2, ball it into some dough and let it sink. you’ll get carp or catfish, whichever sees your bait first🤷🏾‍♂️
