You can find an Alpha Basculin at the very top right of the cobalt coastlands. It's around the small island located above Firespit Island. Hope this helps.

Its Alpha after u finished the Story in this Area. It can spawn as Alpha before defeating Avalugg but the chances are pretty low. Btw reset evertime back to Village and go to all 3 Basculin Locations on Cost, Fabled Spring and Icelands already 3 shinys caught but no shiny Alpha so far. Only normal Alphas in Cost and Fabled Spring. Btw i got Perfect Dex for Basculin no Shiny Charm and no Outbreaks. Also in this Video he plays POST GAME, as he has a Dialga. The Pokemon Alpha odds change everytime u complete a Area and ending the Game for the first time counts as well. Edit: I just received Star Rank 10 and find a Alpha Basculin on every Map now. i got 2 Alphas at the same time in the Icelands. So there is a higher chance for Alphas after u get Rank 10

If anyone can't get it to appear, I got it pretty quickly by saving before leaving the village and checking if he was there. If he isn't, reset the game and try again. Took under 5 tries. Resting didn't work for me but maybe I am unlucky.

Got an aphha basculin at fabled springs, u need it to be nightfall then just head there, capture all basculin or scare them away. Move away from the lake and let it be out of sight. Wait for a couple of mins then go back. The alpha usually respawns for me at that point. If not go back to camp and rest till nightfall and do again. For some reason tho i always get a female, which i dont like because i like the male colorization, got 3 alpha basculin with this strat. I wonder if alpha basculin that spawns here are only female… EDIT: caught another one and finally its a male. Fun fact: if u make the female basculegion interact with the male they will fight and roar at each other 😂

Guys I finally caught him last night! Head to Fabled Springs,kill all Basculin then head back to camp,alternate between resting morning and midday,do not go back to town as this resets the order! Good luck 🤞🏻

Do you need to be in post game or something? I'm 6*s, fully complete basculin Pokédex, I keep going there, checking, not finding it, time skipping two days, checking again. Tried going back to jubilife and back. Just not appearing.

I've tried to find him several times and it doesn't appear. Did you catch him before ending the game or during the post-game?

It can appear as soon as you access the zone. Wild pokemon have a 0.2%-2% chance of randomly spawning as alphas. Find an area with basculin spawns, search for alphas, sleep in a camp to reset the spawns, repeat till you find one

I've been checking here, the cobalt seashore and the mountains and STILL nothing. So. Time of day? Exact location? And pretty importantly: IS IT POST GAME or is it just luck?

Update: it works, but I only found it after the Avaluug noble. I had 7 stars and the second base camp here but I dont know if those matter. Mid day and it wasnt post game, just try getting the other base camp, do the noble mission but dont go back to the commander. It might take a bit but thats how it worked for me.

you have to go back to the town to reset the area

I see people here talking about how they found Alpha Basculin, but in truth there is no set location where Alpha Basculin is. It's only available randomly at 1%.
