In my experience, all you need is a Spin-N-Glo (actual Spinner) in a Pink, White, Green, Yellow Rainbow pattern has always treated me the best. Plus you may get a Silver as well. 😊😊😊

Haha nice! Do you use bait with that? Drifted or plunked?
@guyh.4553 Жыл бұрын
@@PNWBestLife neither. Pulled like any other spinner. Guess it ticks them off so they attack it

My very first ever salmon was a Chum on Kodiak Island. Used the same exact gear with my spinning rod and same exact Spin-N-Glo. It is my #1 favorite lure for Kodiak. Absolutely amazing fight!

@@PNWBestLifeI just got done fishing and had a nice big one but he got away and I was using a salmon/steelhead rod. They were rolling all along the bank and I never got another bit after that. I was so mad I really wanted salmon tonight😂😂😢but I'm definitely going to have to try to float next time I go out

Awesome vid, just got the floating rig you described all set up and good to go on my fishing rod. I'm planning on heading out to the Green River (by Auburn) this weekend to get my first salmon now that Chum are starting to run through there, would you say that the "Porter Levee Natural Area" is a good spot to fish there for Chum?
@PNWBestLife2 ай бұрын
Thanks! 🙏 Hope you slay em! I’ve not fished that spot myself personally, but I know there’s a ton of chum in there right now.

I caught an enormous chum one day on the Puyallup River when I was fishing for B-run Coho when you could fish the river in November. I was throwing a 7/8 oz Blue Fox Pixee spoon and it got stuck on a log so i thought until the log shot upriver peeling line. Fish was 20lb easy but was all calico and stinky so i let him go back and spawn.

Nice video! Many will appreciate your effort to put up this video. The jig and shrimp under bobber is the ticket for em. Much love for sharing❤

I am planning to visit the Olympic Peninsula this thanksgiving. Do you have any recommendation for rivers for chum/coho/steelhead fishing? Thanks

Yes. Harder to chat here though in detail. Can you connect with me on IG? @pacificnwbestlife ?

For creeks, would you generally recommend fishing the incoming flood tide? Or does it really not matter much. My thought is there would be more deeper water in which to target them, along with the usual "coming in with the tide" salmon movement
@PNWBestLife3 ай бұрын
Absolutely! As soon as there’s enough water they start to charge up the creek!

I need to get over to the "Wetside" & go after Chums. Get closer to the mouth & you'll get a lot more firm fish to keep. These are very good brined up & smoked. Less need to smoke a blackmouth or silver & just eat those normally
@PNWBestLife10 ай бұрын
Yes! I agree, I ate one last year and it was fantastic smoked. They are such great fighters!

What brand net are you using black rubberized mesh in boat. Thanks

Sorry for the late reply! I couldn’t find the brand anywhere on the net when I looked for it, but I believe it to be by Beau Mac.

Is it a good time to fish at Kennedy Creek at this time of the year?
@PNWBestLife Жыл бұрын
Yes, we are right around peak if prior years’ run timings are helpful. I’m not crazy about the tides this week for what I typical like to do, but there will be fish in.
