agree with your dad that's its all about Crappie fishing! do more of that than anything and I have been doing what you all are doing by pulling jig all way up to tip and sticking into brush and releasing short amount of line and killing them!

I've thought about the ACC crappie stick for trout fishing on the streams up in my northern part of the country. Easy reach to undercuts in the bank and around snags in the stream to get the tough ones.

I finally invested in a vacuum sealer a little while ago and I really should've gotten one a lot sooner because I freaking love that thing. I buy food in bulk or family sizes so I don't have to buy as often and it helps me store the food for longer periods of time. Best investment I've made in a long time.

Some of the old heads I used to fish with(I am 77yrs old), used to call those Crappie "Barn-door Crappie" due to their size. That was in Central Texas where I still live. Good work, keep it up

Love crappie fishing. I grew up around Lake Martin in East Central AL. Grew up catching crappie at night fishing with a sealed beam light and minnows. Also during the day with jigs and jelly grubs on a Carolina rig.

Pontoon boats are all over Lake Okeechobee crappie fishing. We call them "porcupine boats", cause they have so many poles hanging off the boat that they look like a porcupine!!!!😂😂🤣🤣 No BS!!!!

3:25 "Sac Au Lait", man I haven't heard that since I was a kid trying to read about Crappie. It means "milk bag" and refers to how white and soft the flesh is.

Sort of..it's sac-a-lait..in cajun french it means sack of milk..cause when you hold them up, it looks like your holding a sack of milk..has nothing to do with the flesh..

I'd offer that any panfish looks like a sack filled with liquid, but no other has milky-white, soft flesh like the Crappie. Probably a combination of the two. Thanks for the info, very cool.

'milk bag'), seemingly an allusion to its milky white flesh or silvery skin. The supposed French meaning is, however, folk etymology, because the word is ultimately from Choctaw sakli, meaning "trout"." It's good to be "right" but I'd trade that right now for a big plate of fried Crappie. Enjoying life is better than getting some details right.

I would love to go fishing with your family. Your family was one of the reasons we moved to Florida. When I was young I couldn't get enough of fishing. I am 71 in 2022 July, and we are now due to husbands health we are being forced to move back to Indiana. It has been hard living my husband's dream turned nightmare. Bless you and your family.

My Mama and Dady were dyed in the wool cane pole fisherman. I saved up enough once to buy a baitcaster reel and rod. They wondered why I would pay good money to buy something you could go to the bottoms and cut free. My Momma liked crappie and Daddy liked bream. We always had a freezer full of one or the other. They were always cooked whole. Huge crappie and great big shell crackers made up my childhood. I loved it!!!
