Grew up on a shrimpboat, but ironically do more freshwater fishing. My grandpa no longer has a boat, but we just went out to a pier, under a bridge in Ocean Springs. Had a blue/black skirt jig (had beads in it, blanking on the name). As a kid I learned (in freshwater) hooking squid through that tough beak I could catch 20-50 Bluegill off a single squid & never forgot that. So was trying for flounder, & that was the setup. Also done this with a Chatterbait + Squid for other fish. Shock of shocks, it worked no problem. Me and a buddy got some kayaks, so refreshing myself on saltwater fishing. Thanks for the content.

When he says have you even seen a mullet drag its nose on the bottom he said no. But he has obviously never been in a school of mullet feeding on algae off a boat ramp iv had mullet in saltwater tanks and yes they will absolutely feed with there nose dragging the bottom they will do that to the sides of a fish tank/ bulkhead as well

I've caught all my flounder in north florida on mud flats a few feet deep with a paddletail salt n pepper with chartreuse tail slow reel and bounce off the bottom. 16 to 20 inch flounder.

Andy Meresse in my home state va the game department creates a lot of them and you can find coordinates on their locations. Maybe look into that most of them are concrete structures
