I would charge $120 too! Out of all the Acura’s I have owned, the 2006 TL was just a booger to change the air filter. Ugh. Great tutorial too, I have used it several times bc I didn’t want to screw anything up or break smthg. Thanks!

might be easier to swap transmissions FFS..thank you for your detailed and quiet way you demonstrated it...but seriously Acura wtf is this so buried and half to almost take off 1/4 of the lower dash..and if not careful i suspect some of the plastics will break off..great tutorial..appreciate the time and effort..i think most of the nay votes were aimed at Acura with the same feelings i have..

Thank you for not wasting my time giving me a lecture on what a car is and what a screw driver is and screw is and what air is and what a filter is and what an air filter is and why I need it. etc etc. PLUS you saved me about $80. Great job, baby hands.

Thank you. This was very helpful and I did not have to take the screws out. It took less than 5 minutes and no doubt the dealer would have charged $75 for an hour of labor.

My local honda dealership (no acura in town) wanted to cut a hole in my glove box instead of doing this the right way. I told them no thanks. Thanks SO MUCH for uploading this video. I'll be able to do this on my own, save a ton of money, and not get my car jacked up by ignorance.

I love the internet. I love KZbin. And more importantly, I love YOU man! Thanks a heap. Acura cab filter replacement is 10 times more difficult than on our 2006 Cadillac DTS or on my 2000 BMW 528i. Those required only: (1) open filter door; (2) remove filter; (3) insert new filter; (4) close door. If this seems easy to the Mazda guy, I'll never attempt to change a Mazda cab filter. ;o) Now I know why dealer showed me someone else's filter. Yes, I caught him. No surprise, really. THANK YOU!!

Wow my 05 rl is in the same exact spot, but all I have to do is take out the upper part in the glove box, it's where the car manual is, it just pops right out no screws so fucking easy, I guess that's why it cost more money for the car

Wonderful! Thank you. I didn't have to take out the under-dash cover to get the glove box out. Also, I found it difficult to reinsert the glove box with the glove box cover on because it was so awkward. I removed the glove box cover (only 2 screws) before reinserting the box which made it much easier.

Luckily honda and acura have the sense to make these somewhat easy to change.....try puttin one in a mazda 3 or any of the new style beetles....its like a jigsaw puzzle that ya end up not wantin to finish.....good video will save a lot of people money for something that is fairly simple.

@mntodc Depends on your driving conditions. If you're often driving through dusty conditions, then more often. I live in suburbia, with a fair amount of highway time... I change mine every 6 months or so. Maybe once a year. Think of it like your air filter at home. How often do you change it?

@01sachem Mines a 04 as well. There were not those extra screws on the inside and I just pried the plastic tabs out with a screwdriver from the inside and took them out. They popped right back into place when I was putting it back together.

Actually cutting a hold in the panel behind the glove box (if done correctly and cleanly) is the best long term solution. It saves you having to pull the panel out and replace each time which is the hardest part of the job. Those snap clips will break eventually.

I have a 2004 and thee are no screws nor pop-out retainers as shown in this video. Also, the side retainers require removal before the glove box can be rotated down. This video may be okay for later years, but not for 2004 TL.
