When you talk about prying the oil pan with those tabs? Are you sticking the screw driver between into the seals? Wouldnt that leave a mark on the surface?

No those tabs are outside the seal area. They are designed to put a pry bar or big flat head and twist.

I just found out my threads are stripping during my last oil change. I’m in the same boat.
