Yeah I had to hit up my local bike shop to help me out on my double wall bmx rim I never knew that it's a little bit harder to put tire on a double wall I'm so used to single wall but when I finally took it to the bike shop he got it on like nothing even without the tire lever he said sometimes you have to muscle it on but if I had Tire lever will that make it more easier for me so I don't really have to muscle it on.

@jaquanisashitter73597 жыл бұрын
Nutteloos same! I don't know what to do.
@kingsrideshop7 жыл бұрын
Yeah some rim and tire combos are a tight fit, most rims curve down toward the center, get as much air out as you can and push both beads of the tire to the middle of the rim, it will help the tire sit more loose on the rim and help get the lever under the bead, I hope it helps. I know some aren't designed the best.

To make a tire that's resistant to flats. Take old tube, cut nipple off, then cut it down the middle. Layer old tube inside tire or around new tube. Inflate slowly, as you start to inflate rotate tire and squeeze the tire to help get the extra layer the old tube to sit properly inside. A tire pumped up to high air pressure is more resistant to flats. A lower psi will make manuals easier. If you really want indestructible tire take old extremely bald smaller tire layer that inside of new bigger tire instead of extra tube. Bald 1.75 tire inside new 2.2 tire. Tire inside a tire can be difficult to mount but it can be done. Whike inflating again go slow rotate tire and squeeze around to be help get proper bead to rim circumference. CMM ❤

do the washers go on the inside or outside
@kingsrideshop7 жыл бұрын
Washers go on the outside of the frame.
@kingsrideshop7 жыл бұрын
The only problem with putting washers on the inside is the spacing between the forks is equal to the spacing to the outside of the hub lock nuts. But you can flex the fork a little and add washers if it makes you more comfortable and you are still able to get the wheel on the fork.

Here at Kings Ride we only sell core bmx brands, brands that only make or main focus is bmx when it comes to bike, so GT isn't a brand we carry, I'm positive tho its a decent bike to start on and you can always get nicer parts for it. Hit our site kingsrideshop.com or if you have any questions on what parts will fit your GT give us a call. Keep riding..

do i have to get a bigger inner tube if im getting thicker tires
@kingsrideshop5 жыл бұрын
Mike Montes if you get wider tires it’s better to get a bigger tube. It won’t have to stretch as much to fill the tire. You can use the other tubes they just stretch more and that makes them more likely to be punctured

if my stock tires are thin, do I need to buy new rims in order to get fatter tires ? or will 2.5's or 2.4's fit on it regardless
@kingsrideshop7 жыл бұрын
You won't need new rims, the wider tires will fit the rims, just make sure your frame and fork have the room to clear the bigger tire.

@IAMLGND-dr5fb7 жыл бұрын
I have a question my rims are 20x25 and the tires I ride right now are 20x2.125 I want to get bigger/fatter tires without changing my rims what's the fatter/bigger tires I can get to fit on my rims?l.
@kingsrideshop7 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean by your rims are 20x25.. but your rims fit any tire with a 406 ISO diameter..meaning you can put a 20x1.75 all the way up t0 a 20x2.5 onto the rim, what you should be concerned with is if your frame and fork have the clearance for the wider tire and if your rim is extremely narrow (which i doubt) the tire's sidewall may flex and fold over easier. Other than that pick up some wider tires and enjoy.

Putting the tyre back on the rim is so so difficult. My fingernails are coming out to put it back on, so tight and difficult
@kingsrideshop5 ай бұрын
Some Rim and Tire combinations are more difficult than others. I would make sure one side of the tire goes on at a time, the second is to be sure the bead of the tire sits in the deepest area of the rim on the opposing side from where you are trying to install the tire. Some dish soap may help as well.

@kingsrideshop7 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply, You should be able to install any tire like that however some are a tighter fit than others. Try to use the tire levers to help pry the tire onto the rim..careful not to pinch the tube. Remember only one side of the tire can be installed at a time. If you can't take it to a shop and get some hand on help.
@Uilrub4 жыл бұрын
Is 20x1.95 the same as 20
@kingsrideshop4 жыл бұрын
yeah so the first number 20" means the inflated diameter of the tire is about 20" across, this can vary but doesn't matter too much. The second number is the inflated width of the tire, how wide it is. Inner tubes usually fit a range of tires widths, that's why the box usually says 20x1.95-2.125". basically saying it fits a tire from 1.95 inches wide to 2.125 inches wide. Tubes stretch like a ballon to fill space so even if they are not exact on the box, if they are close they should work.
