Thank you, truly!! I’m a broke college student that works full time. I was in despair thinking I had to figure out how to subtract 2-3 hours each week to go to the laundry mat. Watching this video, I went to the local parts guy, did exactly what you showed to do, and guess what?! I can do my own laundry again! Thank you again. I really appreciate people like you making video like this that genuinely makes a difference in our lives. You saved me money I did not have and time I could not waste. You’re a hero in overalls!

Wow this just helped us so much! My step father Howard Lambert had his own electrician business over 50 years and what I did pay attention to helps save money and comes in handy in daily management of my home. Arla was trying to replace our heating element when I came in here and I looked you up instead of 24 hours of wondering how to fix this dryer. It's done! Ty! 🙏

Thanks for the cleaning tips, especially on the vent/blower side. My daughter's 14 mo old dryer quit working. I bought a new heating element with a kit, that included all the thermostats & fuses. When I took the back off the entire inside was covered with a heavy layer of lint. In checking it out the two screws that hold the bottom right side of the lint/vent tube before the blower were just barely in there and had been letting all the lint & hot air go inside the dryer instead of out the vent to atmosphere. Once I cleaned it out following your instructions and replacing all the thermostats, fuses and heating element it ran like a charm. Later my daughter messaged me saying that I not only fixed it, I improved it, as clothes were drying in one cycle where before it was taking 2 or 3 timer cycles to get clothes dry. Simply was failed assembly/quality control issue at Whirlpool letting this unit out without checking that all the screws were tight.

You remind me of my Dad. He could fix anything, plus you clean up as you go-Bonus. I had a dryer repair man come in and he said the new models had (this is what I remember him saying) the heating element was now connected to the rotor arm or motor. I'm not sure if that was it but he said something that used to be two different pieces were now one piece and it would cost almost as much to replace that as it would to just get a new one. Plus he charged me about $50-75 dollar service charge that he would put toward a new one if I bought a new one from them. We ended up getting an older second hand one for $50 that works fine (knock on wood). If I would have watched this before this happened to mine I might have been able to tell what he was doing and if he was ripping me off. Anyway, thanks for the video and tell your wife she's a lucky woman to have you.

I love phones and their ability to record the assembled item--and to see where you can't get your eyeball. But another tip I've found useful--the wires are often crimped and in the same position for so long they hang right about to the place where you plug them in. And oftentimes the designers use different plugs where you literally can't plug the wrong one in. Not all of the time--but most of the time. It's just a good tip in a pinch, if you didn't happen to take a photo. Or you can put a the same magic marker mark on plug, and next to socket. You're really thorough. I'll bet that thing dried like new!

hey kevin! thanks for your vids.. replaced many elements myself on electric driers... that snap fuse doesn't care which line goes where, it just is normally closed.. if it over heats, it breaks and stops current from going to the element. also, with your thermometer.. doesn't work well when you just shoot it anywhere, really wants to see something black.. i use black 3M electrical tape... gives you a much more accurate temp reading if you shoot at that.. give it a try, you will see

I've replaces most of the small things on my dryer over the years. The timer, the squirrel cage and today the heating element. It's almost 30 years old. What I've learned is that most things that are old can be repaired if you take the time to research it. I do not ever call a "professional" because I can't pay their prices. In our area they charge me $100 to come out and assess what I already know is wrong and then another $100 on top to return and fix it for an outrageous price. I paid $18.00 for the heating element on Amazon. Just get the dryer's model number and put it in the search bar with the part and presto, major savings. Thanks for making my research easier. It didn't used to be so easy as just looking on a computer.

That looks like one of them jobs that's easier said than done. But it looks like you did it very well. If you ever need a gasket you should normally be able to get gasket material about 1ft square at most plumbing supplies. If you have an electrical tester set on ohms will work on testing the fuse. There can be multiple things wrong with your dryer if its not heating up or if its stays hot and the power dont shut off. Always hsve some knowledge of electricity appliances before u mess with them. They also store engery and u can be electrocuted from that stored electricity. They all have capacitors that store that energy even if they're unplugged. Dont touch stuff u dont have mechanical knowledge. Hire a technician to do the job for u

Recently, I replaced the heating element in my old Whirlpool dryer. The screw hole on the new heating element bracket did not line up with the hole on the housing until I pushed the element bracket inboard, thus, causing the element's support arm to push against the sensing part of the high limit thermostat. My question is, would this cause the thermostat to prematurely trip? I guess I can always use metal wire to secure the bracket and keep the thermostat free from any obstruction.

Great video, I have a question, my dryer is working and heating, but when the cycle finished the clothes is still wet, in your experience this could be the heating elements or the fuses?
@Robinson-Homestead
@Robinson-Homestead 3 жыл бұрын
check your dryer vent it might be plugged up with lint, clean it all the way and feel outside if air is coming out the vent .

I have an older model Kenmore elite (whirlpool version) electric dryer. Model is WP3387747 . I bought the heating element but every dryer video I watch shows a separate aluminum panel on the back that comes off easily. My model is white all the way around. After removing all the screws on the back the panel won't budge as if it is spot welded on. There is absolutely no give at all. Any ideas on how to get the back off on one like this?

I was watching your awesome youtube tutorial and wanted to see if you thought it would be a good idea to link the Heating Element from JACS on amazon in your video to help people out. I own the listing and sell this part on amazon and thought i could offer your viewers a 5% discount just for being one of your subscribers. Thoughts? Ben

@@Robinson-Homestead I finally figured out how to create a 5% off coupon for your viewers/subscribers ONLY. This code is only good through 2020 (let’s re-evaluate in October or November). Let’s try it out and see if it is helpful for people who are DIYers. Not only have I created this exclusive code that you can place in your videos, but I will be sending out a follow up email to all my customers with a link to your video for a tutorial! I hope this will take your channel to another level. ALSO, I would recommend going on my amazon product page and uploading your video so customers can see your video. I think this alone will give you an extra 50,000 views a year! Here is the URL to link in your video: www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=kenmore+dryer+heating+element&field-brand=JACS&field-asin=B07VC54WQW Here is your exclusive Code: Kevin2020 Thanks, Ben PS. You may have to give this code 4 hours to work. Amazon takes awhile to populate these coupons.
