I lost my father this year, and I swear everything in my house started to break. I’ve had to ask KZbin and Google the things that my Papa would inevitably know, so I really appreciate this video and all of the resources you gave! Today, you were playing the role of father. Cheers!

When you connected the jumper wire that came with the new heating element, did your dryer have an extra wire of where it would of connected if it didn’t have the jumper wire?
@HandCraftedbyJasonCooper2 жыл бұрын
I am not quite sure what you are asking. I've replaced this heating element several times. some of the heater coils came with the thermostat already attached and jumpered, but other did not. The jumper was for connecting thermostat on the heating element itself.

Thanks for video, just referenced it when doing mine. I still can't believe what repair guys charge, I bought the element kit for 34.00 on Amazon and an hour or less to make the repair. Easy Peasy.
@HandCraftedbyJasonCooper2 жыл бұрын
Yes! The first time mine went out, the dryer was less than a year old. We paid a guy to come fix it as we had a "warranty" after buying the house. He showed me how easy it was and I've done it ever since. Unfortunately they don't last as long as they should. I've had some last many years, and others crap out after 6 months.

Judt did my element how long does burning smell last. Nervous don't want to start a fire
@HandCraftedbyJasonCooper9 ай бұрын
It may smell for the first cycle. But technically it always gets hot it’s just that it has to burn off the junk from manufacturing.

Hello Jason, I have existing heater with 300 watt 240V, Can I replaced with 5400W 240 Volt? all dimension is same. Will it be working normal?
@HandCraftedbyJasonCooper9 ай бұрын
You'll have to investigate that on your own to make sure it is compatible. I always work from the original part numbers and check compatibility form there if I buy an after market replacement part. I usually start with www.searspartsdirect.com/ to get the part number I need based on the brand/model of the appliance. Once I have that, i use that part number to shop around for the best prices. You still have to be careful because some sites will show you similar parts even though you search a specific part number.

Great video, thank you! I have discovered that my high limit thermostat is blown so will fix that. On testing also found that my heating element is black from heat but still conducts when tested. Is there any benefit to me installing a new heating element if old one is not blown?
@HandCraftedbyJasonCooper4 жыл бұрын
I am not an expert, but I don’t think I’d replace a part that isn’t broken. Especially since it’s not like it’s hard to get to if it were to go out later.
