You didn’t tighten in a star pattern when you tightened the lugs then you didn’t torque them in a star pattern and how does the TPMS resync to the new wheel? You should also put chock-blocks behind both rear or front wheels. Good video in general thank you!

You should never loosen the lug nuts with a power tool. Tesla manual specifically states this. You should loose them with a breaker bar and after lifting the wheel, then you can use power tools to completely remove them.

You don’t have to put the lug nuts on the studs in the star pattern only when your tightening the lug nuts and torquing. Don’t torque wheel locks.

You should because it’ll hold the tire not to move
@manny93233 жыл бұрын
You absolutely torque wheel locks. It's a lug like any other, it holds down 1/5th of the wheel and can come loose like any other nut. If your wheel lock can't handle being torqued your locks are trash.

3 tons is 6,000 lbs (6,600 lbs if we're talking a metric ton) so a 3 ton jack could lift the entire car, not just one corner or one side. There's certainly nothing wrong with a jack with more capacity than weight to lift but 3 tons is way more than you need. The one issue with using a higher capacity than needed is that the mechanical advantage must be greater on the high capacity jack, so you will require more pumps, or a longer stroke, than if you use a lower capacity jack.

Will the jack fit under the car if the tire is flat?
@xplmr13 жыл бұрын
I was told by a Tesla tech that the Model 3 is so rigid that they jack up from only the rear jack point to lift both front and rear tires on one side of the vehicle off the ground. That may be necessary with a flat that makes it too close to the ground to use the nearest jack point.

This impact wrench have a mode for lug nuts. The moment it sense the lug tight, it will instantly stop. You will have to use a torque wrench to manually torque your lugs to spec after. So while in that mode, you can't over tight the lugs.

Usually you wanna use a torque stick with won't let you over trq. But in the event you don't have one general rule is to hand tighten you lugs first to the point the wheel isn't moving and then give it a quick 1 sec tighten if your using gun and do that twice. After that use the trq wrench to finish up trqing your tire.
