7 years later and you're helping new people! You're the only video I've found that shows how to join out this size of the Bernat yarn. Thank you!!

I don't know what it is, but you always make things so easy to learn. I am not really a beginner, but I never really learned how to crochet the proper way. So thanks for taking the time to make these videos.

This is awesome. I was in another tutorial and was running out of yarn. The host used a bigger skein and had nooooooooo instructions as to what to do🤦🏽♀️. Luckily for me, someone posted your link.

You're a life saver. I wish I had known this sooner. All the weaving in of ends I have done on row changes after the blanket was finished.
@thorina66042 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I am on my 5th blanket (or mom hugs as I call them) and the color change ALWAYS made me crazy! This was so much easier. I especially love that you are worried about ends pulling back out, because I am also unreasonably worried about that! Your method of color change at the end of a row is perfect for me!

I have saved many yards/meters of my bernat blanket by using the change in the middle of the row you showed once before. i also hardly have ends to sew in thanx to your crochet over method. thanx

Wow thank you so much. It's my first time working with Bernat blanket yarn and I was so concerned about weaving my ends because it was thick I had no clue how to do it. Didn't even think to use my darning needle I was using my crochet hook to weave in and out. Weaving ends stresses me out. 😂😖

First off, let me say I'm one of your big fans, too! Love your how-to videos, and couldn't make a thing without them....until now!!! The one thing I've had an issue with since I've decided to "yarn it up" is that no one has told me, showed me, offered a single way to join anything but multi-fiber/ply, or "tube" yarns!! I guess what I mean is this: I can find no reliable, simple (not necessarily "easy") way to join #6-#7 (super bulky/jumbo weight) yarns without sewing them! While the Blanket yarn and Baby yarns are awesome, the 'type' is the only thing it has in common with BIG. Aside from sewing it, can you advise how to correctly and invisibly (that being the most important) join Bernat Blanket BIG size yarn (and similar) in the middle of a project, ie., to change colors or when running out of a skein? Any words of wisdom would be appreciated since the yarn is discontinued, but it's an awesome critter if I could just use more than one skein a project!! Thanks again; you're the Boss!! C~

Hi Mikey...Im a lifetime knitter...I don’t crochet...Have watched your videos in the past 🙂 Been using this yarn in 2020....my family members are getting warm blankets for Christmas in place of warm hugs Im “sewing” these connections with this yarn with a thread & needle ...after a very small knot connection....Its an easy 5 min task, no ends to weave...clean, NO yarn waste & have a difficult time finding the join after the fact

When did "tear it out" become "frog it"? I've been away from crochet for a few years and had never heard this term until a couple of months ago.
@DH-qz2so7 жыл бұрын
'Tear it out' became 'rip it out', which became 'ribbet' out'....so ribbet ribbet (rip it rip it)...is now 'frog it' .... referring to the sound that a frog makes....so now it is Frogging it out, or Frogging...!

can you please tell me what crochet hooks you are using? mine are that style, but only go up to a J. That yarn calls for L and I have yet to find one that size in the same style. I do not love the plastic hooks and those seem to be the only ergonomic ones in my area.
@TheCrochetCrowd7 жыл бұрын
Size 8 mm or L hook. I picked up the hook at Michaels Stores.
@msmikkic97387 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you about the plastic hooks. The yarn seems to stick to them and it really slows down my crocheting.

I agree I hate the dragging feel when I try to use a plastic crochet hook. The metal ones in larger sizes can be difficult to find in my area.

You use a darning needle technique to sew into the area using the same colour. If you cannot bury it, you have to hide it with a darning needle.
