Hey brian, quick question doesn’t xdrive bmw have a front and rear differential, why would you change front differential fluid and not rear. And how do you know when it’s time to chenge those fluids?Love your Videos btw!!

Red Line offers a 75W85 GL-5 gear oil for a fraction of the cost of BMW oil. I don’t see why you couldn't use that to save some money. Any thoughts?

Don't buy into the "Special" fluid for these differentials unless it is the transfer case on an XDrive model. The front and rear differentials just need 75W90.

To clarify, the transfer case mentioned needs a specific oil because it contains an active clutch pack and is computer controlled. the front and rear transfer cases are just good ol' fashioned big ass gears.

Rear diff is a different fluid, I believe that the rear diff fluid is sold in a transparent bottle

Did the xDrive fluids on a 2017 X5. Used Red Line 75w85 API GL5 on the front & rear differentials. Used Red Line MT-LV 70w75 API GL4 for the transfer case. After the 3 fluids were changed I noticed a small increase in MPG.

Hallo Bryan, I came across your channel since a few days before and I watched a lot of different vlogs of yours. I found that you are a genius and like a God father for cars (BMWs). I subscribed to your channel straight away. I have been thinking about the Bimmertech MMI kit to be installed for my BMW m135i xdrive 2013 for CarPlay feature. I found through your channel a link to look for the Product and I can actually find a lot of,quite clear, information on the Product on its Website. However, I feel it good to ask for your help and guidance if this installation does not hinder the actual idrive system and particularly the quality of the audio music sound system on my car or if it does not creates malfunctioning of the whole system.
