How To Change Front Door Speakers In 2006 chevy silverado - Without Buying Brackets

Hey guys in this video im showing you how to install some door speakers in a 2006 Chevy silverado and its very easy and done need much tools. Doing what i do you dont need to buy any speaker adapters either.

i would check polarity of speakers but rull of thumb is usually the darker color is negative and the lighter one is positive.

thanks for the video dude. excellent work. btw one could use heat shrink solder connectors instead of just electrical tape. pretty cheap for a bunch of em you just need a heat gun.

this video was the cheapest way possible, most of the time i order special adpators with foam and sound deadning for the doors. did that on my Truck and it sounds amazing as well as keep some road noise out

It is easier to just unhook the wire harnesses. Also, the screw on the very bottom of the door is only to hold the door compartment tray in place. It doesn’t need to be removed.

Damn they changed them within same generation trucks, my '02 is only 2- 7mm screws and 10 seconds for panel removal. Recommendation- could tear the screen off those speaker surround brackets and reinstall em after 4 screws, then extra holdown for offroad and door slamming

I can tell you you can take off the window switch and the door lock switch before you takeoff the door panel and will be easier. If I put an aftermarket speaker do I have to take out the factory Twitter as well

Thanks Cason, I did my passenger side speaker using some one else's video before found yours. so I broke the screw out on the switch panel because the other video didn't show the screw on the back that has to come out after removing the panel. Why GM see's the need to change such minor things from year to year I'll never understand. Anyway I just got the drivers side done, using factory speakers so they just clipped back in. My 2006 had tweeters and my replacement Alpines came with tweeters. I cut a hole in the old tweeter mounting plate and the new tweeters fit. Instead of cutting the wires in the truck, I removed the connectors from the woofer and tweeter and soldered them to the new wires.

cohunter4 I wanna say 6.5" but they have the adaptor for the speaker to make it fit right. Aftermarket with now adaptor works fun just as long as you did what I did. But I think 6.75" would work better because it would be a snug fit

Make sure you are getting power to the radio, have a good ground, and the red wire is getting good power which tells the radio to turn on
